Plug connector and plug connection

Abstract

The invention relates to a plug connector (1) for hollow profiles (2), in particular warm edge hollow profiles, of a spacer (3) of an insulated glazing unit (4), wherein the plug connector (1) has a longitudinal direction (5), a connector centre (6) and connector limbs (7, 8) extending longitudinally in both directions from said connector centre. The plug connector (1) has, at least in parts, a substantially U-shaped cross section with preferably open ends (11), and has a hollow interior (12) at the inside. Said plug connector comprises a connector base (9) at its bottom side and comprises side walls (10, 10') which adjoin the longitudinal edges of said connector base at both sides, project upwardly transversely with respect to the main plane of the connector base (9) and each have an outer side (16) and an inner side (16') which faces the interior (12), wherein one or both side walls (10, 10') is / are hollow and, at the open bottom side (14) thereof, has / have protruding, preferably lamellar, resilient lower retaining elements (30) which project beyond a base outer side (13) of the connector base (9). At least one side wall (10, 10') has, at the outer side (16) thereof, a laterally projecting undulating ribbed contour (36) which extends in the longitudinal direction (5) and which has rib vertices that are each obliquely flattened.
