Method for operating a technical installation, and technical installation

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a technical installation which comprises at least one autonomous vehicle (1). The autonomous vehicle (1) has at least one laser scanner (2) for recording laser scans in order to detect objects, and the autonomous vehicle (1) has a map of the technical installation. The technical installation comprises at least one object which is assigned to an item (4, 6) that is registered in the map. A laser scan of at least one section of the technical installation is recorded by the at least one laser scanner (2) of the autonomous vehicle (1); the laser scan is compared with multiple sections of the map in that for each section of the map, a respective correlation is calculated between objects detected in the laser scan and items (4, 6) registered in the section of the map; and the position of the autonomous vehicle (1) in the map is determined using the map section with a calculated correlation to the laser scan which has the highest value. The invention also relates to a technical installation which can be operated using the method according to the invention.
