Abstract
A method and system for controlling an electric motor in an electrically propelled vehicle, the vehicle comprising a battery (3), an electric motor (2), an accelerator pedal (6), a control unit (4), and a steering wheel (10) comprising a pushbutton (1), the method comprising: a - providing a first reference torque calibration giving a torque setpoint to be applied as a function of an accelerator pedal position, b - providing a second calibration of torque boost giving an available torque boost value, as a function of a set of current operational conditions, for any instantaneous non-zero speed, c -determining an authorization condition for authorizing the application of a boost in torque, d - in response to an activation of the pushbutton, applying a boost in torque according to the second calibration, e - stopping the application of the boost in torque as soon as the pushbutton is no longer activated or if the authorization condition becomes false.
