Abstract

The present invention provides an assembly aid (1) designed for mounting balustrades in or in front of a building reveal, and a corresponding method. The assembly aid (1) has a first and a second side element (S1, S2), each of which has a longitudinal profile (2) to which two transverse profiles (3, 3') are attached at right angles to a central section of the respective longitudinal profile (2), with one end spaced apart from the other and parallel to the other. The longitudinal profiles (2) and transverse profiles (3, 3') are square profiles (2, 3, 3') with longitudinal grooves (20) on all sides. The two side elements (S1, S2) can be positioned and detachably connected via their transverse profiles (3, 3') directly or indirectly by means of a connecting element. During assembly, the assembly aid (1) can be arranged vertically on the building in or in front of a building reveal.They each have two end sections (E1, E2) and at least one end section (E1) of each side element (S1, S2) is detachably and positionably connected to a template (6) by a connecting element. The templates (6) each form a railing bracket with at least one borehole (6').

Description

[0001] The invention relates to an assembly aid for balustrades and a method for assembling such balustrades using this assembly aid.

[0002] Various forms of "parapet railings" are known from the prior art; the term here essentially refers to lattice elements such as French balconies, as they are installed in or in front of window reveals, i.e., on the exterior wall in front of floor-to-ceiling windows of buildings, as fall protection, particularly on higher floors. Therefore, "parapet railing," "window grille," or "window parapet" are to be understood synonymously here, regardless of whether they are set into the reveal or are projected as a balustrade in the style of a balcony that does not generate any usable, or at least no significant, usable area.

[0003] It is common practice to mount such balustrades within the reveal using usually four brackets, or, in the case of surface-mounted balustrades, using angle brackets that are screwed to the wall to the left and right of the window reveal. The most important parameters to consider are the spacing between the drill holes, the size and length of the anchors or sleeves, the dimensions of the required screws or threaded rods, and the distance to the reveal.

[0004] The installation procedure, according to the state of the art, as described, for example, at https: / / www.elbernetall.de / ratgeber / rnontage-franzoesischer-balkon, usually follows this sequence: In the first step, an installer (this term is to be understood as gender-neutral here, as are all terms indicated with the article) manually measures the distances between the planned holes for plate-like brackets or angle elements, determines the dimensions for the fasteners such as mesh sleeves and threaded rods, and measures the distance to the reveal. Then, the dimensions for the fastening of the railing to be installed are measured, and the drill holes are marked using a spirit level and measuring tape.

Screen sleeves are usually inserted into the drilled holes, and injection mortar is injected. The threaded rods are then inserted into the screen sleeves, and the injection mortar hardens. Finally, the balustrade, or in this case, the French balcony, is attached to the threaded rods using washers and nuts.

[0006] The installation therefore requires precise preparation and measurement of the aforementioned distances so that the French balcony can be attached perfectly in the end.

[0007] Therefore, the preparatory work for the installation is of paramount importance, namely measuring with a tape measure and marking the positions. If inaccuracies occur due to the tape measure, spirit level, or pen slipping during marking, fitting the balustrade to be installed becomes more difficult, the quality suffers, or remeasuring and marking are necessary, incurring additional costs.

[0008] Based on this prior art, the object of the present invention is to provide an auxiliary device for the installation of parapet railings in or in front of a reveal of a building, or in or in front of a reveal of a floor-to-ceiling window.

[0009] This problem is solved by an assembly aid having the features of claim 1.

[0010] The next task is to improve the procedure for mounting such parapet railings in or in front of building reveals.

[0011] This problem is solved by the method with the features of independent claim 11.

[0013] According to a first embodiment of the mounting aid according to the invention, for which the mounting of balustrades in or in front of a building reveal is designed, it has a first and a second side element, each with a longitudinal profile to which two transverse profiles are attached at right angles at a central section. These transverse profiles are spaced apart from each other and parallel to each other along the length of the respective longitudinal profile. Essentially, this base element resembles a reclining pi (π). The longitudinal and transverse profiles are square profiles with longitudinal grooves on all sides. The first side element is directly or indirectly connected to the free ends of the transverse profiles of the second side element by a connecting element via its two transverse profiles or their free ends.When the mounting assembly is used during the installation of a balustrade railing in or in front of a building reveal, it is essentially held in place until it has fulfilled its purpose, but is not permanently attached. During this time, the first and second side elements are positioned vertically against the building. While the middle section of each longitudinal profile supports the two transverse profiles, the parts above and below the middle section are called end sections.

[0014] Furthermore, the assembly aid has a plurality of templates, each depicting a railing bracket with at least one bore, and such a template is detachably and positionably attached to at least the upper end section of each longitudinal profile by means of a connecting element.

[0015] This means that when arranging the mounting aid, if the balustrade is to be attached within the reveal and, for example, struts with feet rest on the bottom of the reveal or are even anchored there, it may suffice if only the upper end sections of the side elements, i.e., those on the right and left within the reveal, have templates. However, as a rule, especially for balustrades mounted in front of the reveal, two templates per side element will be provided, i.e., at the upper and lower end sections of the two longitudinal profiles.

For example, depending on the width of a balustrade to be installed, one side panel could have cross profiles of a different length than the other – and these could advantageously be exchanged accordingly by detaching the connecting elements.

[0020] The enormous advantages of the mounting aid according to the invention lie in the fact that the installation of the balustrade is carried out with improved accuracy; measuring is generally no longer necessary, since the dimensions of the balustrade are transferred directly to the mounting aid, which contains the templates with the drill holes required for the final assembly of the balustrade. Essentially, the mounting aid can be held against the building, and the drilling can be carried out directly through the holes in the templates; then the necessary elements, whether threaded rods, dowels, mesh sleeves, or other components, can be inserted into the holes. The need to manually measure the distances between the drill holes and their final positions is advantageously eliminated with the device according to the invention.

[0021] All of the mentioned transverse and longitudinal profiles are grooved profiles and can be made of aluminum, but they could also be made of another metal, provided the required stability is ensured. The specialist will be informed about this. It is recommended that four-groove profiles be used here.

This slide has two transverse legs which, together with two longitudinal legs, form a rectangle. The adjacent cross profiles can be connected with two or more connecting elements instead of at least one, also for reasons of stability.

[0024] Furthermore, according to yet another embodiment of the mounting aid according to the invention, it can gain even greater stability if the first and second side elements have support profiles at their lower end sections relative to the mounting arrangement. These support profiles are square profiles with longitudinal grooves on all sides and extend horizontally away from the two side elements. In the mounting arrangement of the device on the building, these support profiles extend into the reveal. Each support profile is detachably and positionably attached in a longitudinal groove of the respective side element via an end-mounted connecting element.

Claims

1. Assembly aid (1), designed for mounting balustrades in or in front of a reveal of a building, wherein the assembly aid (1) has a first and a second side element (S1, S2), each of which has a longitudinal profile (2) to which two transverse profiles (3, 3') are attached at right angles to a central section, with each end spaced apart from one another and parallel to one another, wherein the longitudinal profiles (2) and the transverse profiles (3, 3') are each square profiles (2, 3, 3') with longitudinal grooves (20) on all sides, wherein the first side element (S1) is directly or indirectly positionably and detachably connected to the transverse profiles (3, 3') of the second side element (S2) via its transverse profiles (3, 3') by means of a connecting element, and wherein the first and the second side element (S1,S2) during an assembly arrangement of the assembly aid (1) in or in front of a reveal of a building, are vertically arranged on the building and each has two end sections (E1, E2), wherein the assembly aid (1) has a plurality of templates (6) each representing a railing bracket with at least one borehole (6'), and wherein at least one end section (E1) of each side element (S1, S2) can be detachably and positionably connected to a template (6) by a connecting element.

Assembly aid (1) according to claim 1, characterized by the fact thatthe first side element (S1) is indirectly connected via its cross-sections (3,3') to the cross-sections (3, 3') of the second side element (S2) via a slide (4) which has two transverse legs (4') and is connected to two longitudinal legs (5) forming a rectangle, wherein each transverse leg (4') of the slide (4) is detachably and positionably connected to a cross-section (3, 3') of each of the two side elements (S1,S2) via at least one connecting element.

Assembly aid (1) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized by the fact that the first and second side elements (S1,S2) have support profiles (7) at their lower end sections (E2) in relation to the assembly arrangement, which are square profiles (2,3,3') with longitudinal grooves (20) on all sides and extend horizontally away from side elements (S1,S2), wherein each support profile (7) is detachably and positionably fastened in a longitudinal groove (20) of the respective side element (S) via a terminal connecting element.

Assembly aid (1) according to claim 3, characterized by the fact that at a free end of each of the support profiles (7) a height-adjustable support foot (8), designed to support the assembly aid (1) on the building, is arranged, wherein preferably the height-adjustable support foot (8) is positioned in a longitudinal groove (20) of the respective support profile (7).

5. Assembly aid (1) according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized by the fact that the connecting elements are clamping clamps (50, 60, 70), preferably quick clamps (50, 60, 70).

Assembly aid (1), according to at least one of claims 1 to 5, characterized by the fact that a stabilizing component, preferably a stabilizing angle (13), is attached between at least a first side element (S1) and a second side element (S2) and a cross-section (3,3`) connected thereto, and / or that the first and the second side element (S1,S2) have a handle (11) on their respective longitudinal profiles (2).

7. Assembly aid (1), according to at least one of claims 2 to 6, characterized by the fact that a stabilizing component, preferably a stabilizing angle (13), is attached in at least one internal angle present in the slide (4).

8. Assembly aid (1), according to at least one of claims 2 to 7, characterized by the fact that the sled (4) has handles (12) on its longitudinal legs (5).

Assembly aid (1) according to at least one of claims 1 to 9, characterized by the fact thatthe connecting element, preferably the clamping clamp (70), particularly preferably the quick-release clamp (70), interacts with an angle element (71) which has a groove (72) and which is detachably coupled to the longitudinal profile (2).

11.
