Breast expression device

Abstract

The invention relates to a breast expression device comprising a body made of an elastically deformable material that defines a breast shield and a vacuum chamber communicating with the breast shield, the device having an opening communicating with a colostrum collection cavity, the breast shield having a flared wall shaped so that the distal end forms a hermetic seal around the entire circumference of the breast posterior to the nipple, so as to allow a vacuum to be created in the vicinity of the nipple and the device to remain in place on the breast through a suction cup effect, the breast shield defining, behind its distal end, a deformable compression zone that allows the milk ducts of the breast to be compressed through pressure applied to the outer surface of this zone, one or more raised portions being present on the inner face of the compression zone in order to prevent it from adhering to the breast during use.
