Abstract

The present invention is directed dry powder film coating compositions for use on oral dosage forms such as compressed tablets and other orally-ingestible substrates. The film coating compositions include 30-50% by weight water-soluble polymer, 25-50% by weight of calcium carbonate, and 3-25% by weight of an opacifying enhancer. Oral substrates such as tablets coated with the film coating compositions are also disclosed and have high opacity, improved color uniformity and overall excellent appearance.
