Procedure metrics editor and procedure metric database

Abstract

Examples described herein provide a computer-implemented method and system that includes generating a metrics editor for a surgical procedure with a metrics display region for display of one or more surgical procedure metrics and a metrics defining region, wherein the metrics defining region provides an interface for user defining of metrics specific to a surgical procedure by specifying calculations between two or more surgical annotations including one or more of phase annotations, instrument annotations, anatomy annotations and surgical event annotations, wherein saved metrics are displayed in the metrics display region.
