An efficient heat pump-based heating system with a heat source

Abstract

The present invention relates to a heating system for generating steam comprising a heat pump system and an evaporation system for evaporating a food product, the heat pump system comprising a heat pump, operating with a primary fluid and a secondary fluid, the evaporation system comprising a heat treatment unit, a condenser and an evaporator, the heat treatment unit being configured to receive and transfer heat to a food product, the evaporator being configured to concentrate the food product. A method of concentrating food products in a heating system is also provided.
