Sensor device, electronic device and method of operating the sensor device

Abstract

A sensor device (1) for detecting gesture inputs (98) and force inputs (99) comprises at least one first emitter (10) configured to emit electromagnetic radiation (L1) of a first wavelength range, at least one second emitter (20) configured to emit electromagnetic radiation (L2) of a second wavelength range that is different from the first wavelength range, at least one detector (30) configured to separately detect electromagnetic radiation (L1, L2) of the first and the second wavelength range, and a deformable membrane (40) arranged in a vertical direction (z) above the first emitter (10), the second emitter (20) and the detector (30), wherein the membrane (40) is more transmissive for the second wavelength range than the for the first wavelength range. The detector (30) is configured to receive electromagnetic radiation (L1, L2) that is emitted by the first and the second emitter (10, 20) and reflected from the membrane (40) and from an object in the vertical direction (z) above the membrane (40). Further an electronic device (100) comprising the sensor device (1) and a method of operating the sensor device (1) is provided.
