Method and apparatus for nw-side setting information (NSI) configuration and indication in wireless communication networks

Abstract

The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a communication system is provided. The method comprises receiving, from a base station, first information for training data set, wherein the first information includes identification (ID) for a network-side setting; obtaining training data set based on the information; training an artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) model based on the network-side setting using the training data set; receiving, from the base station, second information for inference, wherein the second information includes the ID for the network-side setting; performing an inference using the AI / ML model associated with the network-side setting; and transmitting, to the base station, a result of the inference.
