AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Traditional smoking methods are plagued by issues such as pollution from combustible wrappers, the need for frequent cleaning of reusable implements, and inefficiencies in material consumption and smoke production.

Method used

The Modular Contained Combustion Cartridge and Integrated Ignition System provides a self-contained, non-combustible cartridge with an integrated ignition system, allowing for pre-filled or refillable cartridges that ensure contained combustion, quick self-extinguishing, and reduced risk of unintended fires.

Benefits of technology

This system significantly reduces pollution, waste, and the risk of fires, while allowing for efficient and clean consumption of smoking materials, with the added benefit of thermal extraction capabilities using a heat-resistant cartridge.

Abstract

The present invention is for modular contained combustion cartridge and integrated ignition system for smoking. The invention makes possible cartridges capable of combustion of plant based and / or smokable materials. The invention completely contains the combustion within a noncombustible or combustion resistant cartridge and preserves the unsmoked smoking material. The invention is also capable of self-extinguishing quickly after the combustion is completed and preventing unintended fires from errant sparks and embers. The invention further incorporates an integrated plunger mechanism that presses smokeable material towards the heating elements and ensure the material is always in contact with the heating element. The invention contemplates several forms of advancing the plunger mechanism. The system may incorporate a heating element that is capable of both vaporization and combustion of plant material.
