AI Technical Summary
Existing sprayable hair tonics containing high concentrations of adenosine for hair growth and loss prevention are unstable and cause scalp dryness due to high ethanol content, which also leads to faster color fading in hair.
A stable, sprayable aqueous oil-in-water emulsion formulation with adenosine, comprising a water-insoluble oil component, non-ionic emulsifiers, co-emulsifiers, and water, with a water content of 60-90% and adenosine concentration of 0.01-3% by weight, which maintains scalp moisture and prevents color fading.
The formulation achieves high stability and effective delivery of adenosine, preventing hair loss and promoting growth while maintaining scalp hydration and preserving hair color.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Cosmetic product containing adenosine
[0002] The invention is an invention in the field of hair tonics. It relates to sprayable aqueous compositions with skin and hair care effects containing adenosine.
[0003] The present invention relates to a hair tonic with hair-care effects, such as preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth. Adenosine is an active ingredient used in various cosmetic preparations, such as hair tonics, to prevent hair loss and promote hair growth. Such preparations are preferably sprayed onto the scalp and hair for easy application and should be able to be applied without weighing down the hair.
[0004] It is desirable to be able to use high concentrations of adenosine in these products in order to achieve a satisfactory effect for the user. High concentrations of between 0.1 and 1.5 wt.% adenosine can currently only be delivered in sprayable products with an ethanol content of at least 20 wt.%. Adenosine cannot be incorporated stably into sprayable products with a significantly lower ethanol content. However, products with such a high alcohol content lead to severe drying of the consumer's scalp and to faster fading of colored hair. It is therefore desirable to provide a product that overcomes the aforementioned disadvantages.
[0005] It was therefore the aim of the present invention to provide stable sprayable aqueous compositions in which adenosine is present in a high concentration and which do not dry out the scalp.
[0006] Surprisingly, it was found that this task can be solved with an oil-in-water emulsion containing adenosine.
[0007] A first subject matter of the present application is therefore a sprayable hair tonic in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion containing at least one water-insoluble oil component (A), at least one non-ionic emulsifier (B), at least one co-emulsifier (C) and water, wherein the water content is 60 - 90 wt.%, component (A) is present in an amount of 1.5 to 25 wt.%, components (B) and (C) are present in a total amount of 1 to 12 wt.%, characterized in that adenosine is present in an amount of 0.01 to 3 wt.%.
[0008] The agent according to the invention contains a water-insoluble oil component (A) in an amount of 1.5 to 25 wt.%, preferably in an amount of 5.0 to 20, particularly preferably 10 to 15 wt.%. The water-insoluble oil component (A) is preferably selected from the group of fatty acid esters with a fatty acid alkyl chain length of C8 to C36, natural or synthetic triglycerides, hydrocarbons liquid at 20°C and 1013 mbar, and mixtures thereof.
[0009] The fatty acid esters with a fatty acid alkyl chain length of C8 to C36 are preferably those esterified with saturated alcohols with an alkyl chain length of C3 to C26. These are preferably, for example, caprylic acid (CaOOH) esters / capric acid (CioOOH) esters of saturated C12-18 fatty alcohols and / or isopropyl myristic ester. These fatty acid esters are preferably used in amounts of 5.0 to 25 wt.%, particularly preferably 7 to 20 wt.%, and especially preferably 8 to 15 wt.%, based on the agent according to the invention.

The natural triglycerides can also be triglycerides of animal origin such as neatsfoot oil and / or the liquid portions of beef tallow. If natural triglycerides are used, it is preferred according to the invention that they are vegetable triglycerides. The synthetic triglycerides can be those obtained by esterifying glycerol with fatty acids having 8-22 C atoms, e.g. triglycerides of caprylic acid-capric acid mixtures, triglycerides from technical oleic acid or from palmitic acid-oleic acid mixtures or mixtures thereof. The natural or synthetic triglycerides, fatty acid esters, or mixtures thereof are preferably those that are liquid at 20°C and 1013 mbar. However, higher-melting triglycerides and esters corresponding to the formulas given can also be used in amounts such that the mixture of oil components remains liquid at 20°C and 1013 mbar. These triglycerides are preferably used in amounts of 1.5 to 25 wt.%, particularly preferably 5.0 to 15 wt.%, based on the composition according to the invention.
[0011] The hydrocarbons that are liquid at 20°C and 1013 mbar can be C11 to C16 hydrocarbons, for example linear C11 to C16 hydrocarbons or branched C11 to C16 hydrocarbons. They are preferably, for example, mixtures of n-undecane and n-tridecane or isododecane and / or isohexadecane. These hydrocarbons are preferably used in amounts of 5.0 to 25 wt.%, particularly preferably 7 to 20 wt.%, and especially preferably 8 to 15 wt.%, based on the composition according to the invention.

[0075] The following compositions (Examples 1-3 and E1-E3) were prepared in the same way:
[0076] For production, the (co-)emulsifiers were combined with the oil component and water (the ratio of (co-)emulsifiers and oil components to water is between 1:2 and 1:3) to form a PIT emulsion, with the emulsion being brought to phase inversion temperature during or after its production. An aqueous adenosine solution (1.5% to 2.5%) was then added. The temperature of the PIT emulsion was a maximum of 35°C and the temperature of the adenosine solution a maximum of 50°C. After cooling to room temperature (20°C), the perfume was added (optional). Optional ingredients such as perfume and preservatives were introduced via the adenosine solution.
[0077] Example formulations:
[0078] 1: INCI: Glyceryl Stearate (and) Ceteareth-20 (and) Ceteareth-12 (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and)
[0079] Cetyl Palmitate
[0080] 2 : INCI: Ceteareth-12
[0081] 3 : INCI: Coco Caprylate / Caprate
[0082] 4 : INCI: Undecane (and) Tridecane
[0083] The following emulsions (E1-E3) and solutions (V1) were provided:
[0084] For V1, the appropriate amount of adenosine was dissolved in water.
[0085]
[0086] 1 : INCI: Glyceryl Stearate (and) Ceteareth-20 (and) Ceteareth-12 (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Cetyl Palmitate
[0087] 2 : INCI: Ceteareth-12
[0088] 3 : INCI: Coco Caprylate / Caprate
[0089] 4 : INCI: Undecane (and) Tridecane
[0090] It was shown that the PIT emulsions can stabilize adenosine in the applied amount, resulting in stable sprayable compositions with a suitable viscosity (EIES). An aqueous composition containing adenosine without an oil phase and emulsifiers was unstable, forming a precipitate after 24 hours (V1).
[0091] For composition E1, particle sizes of the oil phase and the viscosity of the composition were determined:
[0092] Average particle size: 62 nm
[0093] Device: Zetasizer Nano ZS
[0094] Cuvette: square, 12 mm edge length, polystyrene cuvette (model number DTS0012), Dilution: 0.25 g of composition E1 was diluted in 9.75 g of water and measured
[0095] Viscosity: 7.5 - 10 mPa*s (in several repetitions and measurements)
[0096] Equipment: Brookfield rotational viscometer (Type DV1, Spindle 1, 20 RPM, 20 °C)
