AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing sprayable hair tonics with high adenosine concentrations require at least 20% ethanol by weight to stabilize adenosine, but this high ethanol content leads to scalp drying and color fading in hair.

Method used

A stable, sprayable aqueous hair tonic in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion containing adenosine, with a water-insoluble oil component, non-ionic emulsifier, and non-ionic co-emulsifier, maintaining a water content of 60-90% and an ethanol content of less than 18% by weight, stabilized by urea and/or urea derivatives.

Benefits of technology

The solution provides a stable, high-concentration adenosine hair tonic that does not dry out the scalp and minimizes color fading, while maintaining effective hair growth promotion and loss prevention.

Description

[0001] Cosmetic product containing adenosine

[0002] The invention is an invention in the field of hair tonics. It relates to sprayable aqueous compositions with skin and hair care effects containing adenosine.

[0003] The present invention relates to a hair tonic with hair-care effects, such as preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth. Adenosine is an active ingredient used in various cosmetic preparations, such as hair tonics, to prevent hair loss and promote hair growth. Such preparations are preferably sprayed onto the scalp and hair for easy application and should be able to be applied without weighing down the hair.

[0004] It is desirable to be able to use high concentrations of adenosine in these products in order to achieve a satisfactory effect for the user. High concentrations of between 0.1 and 1.5 wt.% adenosine can currently only be delivered in sprayable products with an ethanol content of at least 20 wt.%. Adenosine cannot be incorporated stably into sprayable products with a significantly lower ethanol content. However, products with such a high alcohol content lead to severe drying of the consumer's scalp and to faster fading of colored hair. It is therefore desirable to provide a product that overcomes the aforementioned disadvantages.

[0005] It was therefore the aim of the present invention to provide stable sprayable aqueous compositions in which adenosine is present in a high concentration and which do not dry out the scalp.

[0006] Surprisingly, it was found that this task can be solved with an oil-in-water emulsion containing adenosine.

[0007] A first subject matter of the present application is therefore a sprayable hair tonic in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion containing at least one water-insoluble oil component (A), at least one non-ionic emulsifier (B), at least one non-ionic co-emulsifier (C) and water, wherein the water content is 60 - 90 wt.%, component (A) is present in an amount of 1.5 to 20 wt.%, components (B) and (C) are present in a total amount of 1 to 12 wt.%, characterized in that adenosine is present in an amount of 0.01 to 3 wt.% and urea and / or a urea derivative is present in a total amount of 1.0 to 25 wt.%.

[0008] The agent according to the invention contains a water-insoluble oil component (A) in an amount of 1.5 to 20 wt.%, preferably in an amount of 3.5 to 15, particularly preferably 5 to 10 wt.%. The natural triglycerides can also be triglycerides of animal origin such as neatsfoot oil and / or the liquid portions of beef tallow. If natural triglycerides are used, it is preferred according to the invention that they are vegetable triglycerides. The synthetic triglycerides can be those obtained by esterifying glycerol with fatty acids having 8-22 C atoms, e.g. triglycerides of caprylic acid-capric acid mixtures, triglycerides from technical oleic acid or from palmitic acid-oleic acid mixtures or mixtures thereof.

[0011] The natural or synthetic triglycerides, fatty acid esters, or mixtures thereof are preferably those that are liquid at 20°C and 1013 mbar. However, higher-melting triglycerides and esters corresponding to the formulas given can also be used in amounts such that the mixture of oil components remains liquid at 20°C and 1013 mbar. These triglycerides are preferably used in amounts of 1.5 to 20 wt.%, particularly preferably 3.5 to 15 wt.%, based on the composition according to the invention.

An aqueous adenosine solution (1.5% to 2.5%) was then added, the temperature of the PIT emulsion being max. 35 °C and the temperature of the adenosine solution being max. 50 °C. After cooling to room temperature (20 °C), the perfume was first added (optional) and then urea or the urea derivative was added and stirred in or dissolved. Optional ingredients such as pH adjusters and preservatives and, if necessary, additional excipients (such as 1,2-propanediol) were introduced via the adenosine solution.
