Description

A signal processing algorithm for a dynamic forklift scaleTechnical Field

[0001] The present application mainly relates to the field of forklift scale technologies, and in particular, to a weighing method and system for a dynamic forklift scale. Background Art

[0002] Forklift scales are typically used for weighing operations in static scenarios, but their weighing accuracy is insufficient during dynamic motion. Currently, there are existing solutions for the application of static forklift scales that can meet high-accuracy measurement requirements. However, due to completely different nature of static and dynamic scenarios and their respective requirements, if static technical solutions are applied to dynamic operation modes, many problems may arise. For example, throughout a dynamic weighing process, weighing data fluctuates greatly, with a noise level reaching up to 10 times or more than a noise level under static weighing. A main source of noise is vibration caused during traveling of the forklift. Moreover, the faster the forklift travels, the more unstable the weighing data becomes, significantly deviating from the C1 accuracy requirements. In static scenarios, adaptive filtering algorithms cannot be applied to dynamic forklift scale weighing due to problems such as local jitter and low response speed. Fixed cut-off frequency filtering algorithms cannot filter out low-frequency noise in the traveling process. However, current product applications need to meet the requirements of both static and dynamic weighing, but the existing static technical solutions cannot meet the requirements.Summary of invention

[0003] The technical problem to be solved by the present application is to provide a weighing method and method that are applicable to dynamic forklift scale scenarios.

[0004] In order to solve the above technical problem, the present application provides a weighing method for a dynamic forklift scale. The method includes: step S10: obtaining weighing data and acceleration data of a forklift during operation; step S20: determining a motion state of the forklift based on the weighing data, the motion state including a static state and a dynamic state; step S30: determining, based on first data of the acceleration data in a traveling direction of the forklift, whether the forklift is in a constant speed operation phase or a constant acceleration operation phase; step S40: obtaining a vibration frequency of the forklift during operation based on second data of the acceleration data in a vertical direction; and step S50: when it is determined that the forklift is in the dynamic state and is in the constant speed operation phase or the  constant acceleration operation phase, setting a cut-off frequency of a second-stage filter based on the second data, and processing the weighing data using the second-stage filter, to obtain processed data.

[0010] In an embodiment of the present application, the weighing result meets a preset accuracy, and the preset accuracy includes an accuracy of one thousandth.

[0011] In an embodiment of the present application, step S20 includes: obtaining a weighing data segment within a second preset time period, and obtaining a peak-to-peak value of the weighing data segment; and when the peak-to-peak value is within a second preset range, determining the motion state as the static state, otherwise determining it as the dynamic state.

[0012] In an embodiment of the present application, the method further includes: determining, based on third data of the acceleration data in a left-right direction, whether the forklift made a turn, and eliminating a section of the processed data corresponding to the time periods when the turn occurs.

[0013] In order to solve the above technical problems, the present application further proposes a weighing system for a dynamic forklift scale. The system includes: a memory configured to store instructions executable by a processor; and a processor configured to execute the instructions to implement the weighing method as described above.

[0014] According to the weighing method and system for a dynamic forklift scale in the present application, a differentiation is made between the dynamic state and the static state of the forklift based on the weighing data, the cut-off frequency of the second-stage filter is set based on both the first data and the second data in the acceleration data, and the weighing data is processed using the second-stage filter, so as to obtain processed data that meets the stability requirements, thereby obtaining the weighing result that meets the accuracy requirements. The weighing method and system of the present application can obtain the cut-off frequency of the second-stage filter in real time, and process the weighing data at different forklift speeds, thereby meeting the measurement accuracy at different forklift speeds.Brief description of drawings

[0024] In the present application, a flowchart is used to illustrate the operations performed by a system according to the embodiments of the present application. It should be understood that the preceding or following operations are not necessarily performed exactly in order. Instead, the various steps may be processed in reverse order or simultaneously. In addition, other operations are added to these processes, or operations of a certain step or several steps are removed from these processes.

[0025] A weighing method and system for a dynamic forklift scale in the present application may be applied to forklift scales of any type and model, including but not limited to manual forklift scales, motorized forklift scales, etc.

[0026] FIG. 1 is an exemplary flowchart of a weighing method for a dynamic forklift scale according to an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG. 1, the weighing method in this embodiment includes the following steps:

[0027] step S10: obtaining weighing data and acceleration data of a forklift during operation;

[0028] step S20: determining a motion state of the forklift based on the weighing data, the motion state including a static state and a dynamic state;

[0029] step S30: determining, based on first data of the acceleration data in a traveling direction of the forklift, whether the forklift is in a constant speed operation phase or a constant acceleration operation phase;

[0030] step S40: obtaining a vibration frequency of the forklift during operation based on second data of the acceleration data in a vertical direction; and

[0031] step S50: when it is determined that the forklift is in the dynamic state and is in the constant speed operation phase or the constant acceleration operation phase, setting a cut-off frequency of a second-stage filter based on the second data, and processing the weighing data using the second-stage filter, to obtain processed data.

[0032] Steps S10 to S50 above are described in detail below.

[0033] In step S10, the present application does not limit how to obtain the weighing data and the acceleration data. Typically, a pressure sensor and an acceleration sensor are provided inside the forklift scale. The pressure sensor is configured to obtain the weighing data, and the acceleration sensor is configured to obtain the acceleration data. In some embodiments, the acceleration sensor includes a three-axis acceleration sensor that can obtain X-axis acceleration data, Y-axis acceleration data, and Z-axis acceleration data separately.

[0034] In some embodiments, between step S10 and step S20, the method further includes:

[0035] step S11: processing the weighing data using a first-stage filter.

[0036] Step S11 may be performed by a filtering module in the weighing system. The first-stage filter is mainly configured to remove high-frequency noise. In some embodiments, the first-stage filter includes a low-pass filter. A cut-off frequency of the low-pass filter is less than or equal to 2 Hz. For example, the first-stage filter may be a Butterworth IIR filter, or an FIR filter based on a Kaiser window, a Blackman Window, etc., with a cut-off frequency controlled at 1 Hz to 2 Hz, to maintain a fast response.

[0037] In step S20, if step S11 has been previously performed, the motion state of the forklift is determined based on the weighing data obtained after being subjected to the filtering processing by the first-stage filter. After the weighing data is subjected to the filtering processing by the first-stage filter, most of high-frequency noise is removed, so that it is possible to distinguish between the dynamic state and the static state of the forklift based on amplitude, frequency, a trend, and the like of the filtered weighing data. It can be understood that, in the static state, the weighing data should ideally be a straight line, while in the dynamic state, the weighing data should have a certain degree of fluctuation. When the weighing data is ideal, in step S20, the original weighing data may also be directly used for the determination. For example, a speed of the forklift in the dynamic state is approximately 5 to 10 miles per hour (mph) .

[0038] In some embodiments, step S20 further includes: determining stability of the weighing data; and if, within a set time period after loading of the forklift scale, a peak-to-peak value of the weighing data within a second preset time period remains within a second preset range, determining that the weighing data is stable, and considering a weighing operation within the second preset time period as static weighing; otherwise determining that the stability of the weighing data within the second preset time period does not meet the requirements, and considering the weighing operation within the second preset time period as dynamic weighing.

[0039] Further, if it is considered as static weighing, a weighing result may be directly calculated based on the obtained weighing data. In some embodiments, mathematical statistical processing may be further performed on the weighing data under the static weighing. For example, an average value or a maximum value of the segment of weighing data is calculated, and the average value or the maximum value is used as the weighing result.

[0040] In steps S30 and S40, regardless of whether the acceleration sensor is three-axis, six-axis, or multi-axis, the first data in the traveling direction of the forklift and the second data in the vertical direction of the acceleration data may be obtained from the acceleration data. In some cases, the traveling direction of the forklift may be an X-axis direction or a Y-axis direction of the acceleration sensor, and the vertical direction may be a Z-axis direction.

[0041] It should be noted that the present application does not limit the execution order of steps S30 and S40. Alternatively, they may be performed simultaneously.

[0042] In step S30, since the first data directly represents acceleration of the forklift in the traveling direction, the data can be used for determining whether the forklift is in the constant speed operation phase or the constant acceleration operation phase. For example, if the acceleration of the first data is 0, it indicates that the forklift is in the constant speed operation phase. If the acceleration remains constant, it indicates that the forklift is in the constant acceleration operation phase.

[0043] In step S40, most vibration of the forklift during operation is along the vertical direction, so that a vibration frequency of the forklift during operation is obtained based on the second data. For example, through spectral analysis on the second data, a distribution of vibration frequencies is obtained as a basis for setting the cut-off frequency of the second-stage filter, which can effectively remove the dynamic noise, which is usually low-frequency noise. Spectrum analysis is the process of converting time-domain  signals into frequency-domain signals (for example, using Fast Fourier Transform) . This allows for the identification of the frequencies of interference or vibration signals. Based on these frequencies, the cutoff frequency of a filter can be set to eliminate the interference signals, ensuring that the cutoff frequency is lower than the interference frequency. The spectral analysis of the second data may also be used to identify whether there is an impact on the forklift scale. Such an impact may be caused by uneven road surface. The impact may affect the zero point, sensitivity, and other performance of the scale body. When an impact is detected based on the second data, the weighing system may prompt a user to check and calibrate the scale body.

[0044] In some embodiments, the method further includes:

[0045] step S41: determining, based on third data of the acceleration data in a left-right direction, whether the forklift made a turn, and eliminating a section of the processed data corresponding to the time periods when the turn occurs. The left-right direction is described with respect to that the forklift may turn left or right when the forklift is traveling in the forward direction. Therefore, whether the forklift made a turn may be determined based on the third data. For example, assuming that the X-axis direction is the traveling direction, the Y-axis direction may represent the left-right direction. When a determining result is that a turn is made, great fluctuations may occur in the weighing data corresponding to the time period of the turn. As a result, the processed data corresponding to the time period of the turn cannot be used as effective data and may be removed, and no weighing result may be output during this time period.

[0046] Similarly, the present application does not limit the execution order of steps S30, S40, and S41.

[0047] In some embodiments, after the acceleration data is obtained in step S10, the method further includes performing smooth filtering processing on the acceleration data to remove high-frequency noise. This can improve the accuracy of the first data, the second data, and the third data in steps S30, S40, and S41, making the setting of the cut-off frequency in step S50 more effective, and can more effectively obtain the weighing data that meets the stability requirements and obtain the high-accuracy weighing result.

[0048] In step S50, when the determining result in step S20 is that the forklift is in the dynamic state, and the determining result in step S30 is that the forklift is in the constant speed operation phase or the constant acceleration operation phase, the cut-off frequency of  the second-stage filter is set based on the second data, and the weighing data is processed using the second-stage filter.

[0049] It should be noted that in the embodiment involving the first-stage filter, the first-stage filter is started once the forklift is started, and the first-stage filter is always working regardless of whether the forklift is in the static state or dynamic state. Therefore, in step S50, the weighing data is processed by the first-stage filter and the second-stage filter to obtain the processed data.

[0050] In some embodiments, the setting of the cut-off frequency in step S50 enables the stability of the processed data to be within a first preset range. The stability of the processed data may be determined through stability analysis. For example, the method for determining the stability described above may be used to calculate a peak-to-peak value of the processed data within a time period. If the peak-to-peak value is always within a preset range, the processed data is stable, otherwise it is unstable. When the determining result is that the processed data is unstable, the current second data may be re-analyzed through spectral analysis, to obtain a new cut-off frequency. It should be noted that, in the constant speed operation phase, assuming that the forklift speed remains constant, ideally, only the second data within a certain time period is required for use to calculate the cut-off frequency, and the cut-off frequency may be continuously used at this forklift speed. However, since fluctuations may occur in the second data due to reasons such as road conditions, the cut-off frequency calculated based on the second data within a previous time period may no longer be suitable for use for the current time period. Therefore, according to this embodiment, when instability is found, the cut-off frequency is re-calculated based on the current second data, making the cut-off frequency more suitable for the current road conditions. In this case, the same forklift speed may correspond to several different cut-off frequencies.

[0051] In another embodiment, when it is determined that the stability of the processed data is not within the first preset range, the current cut-off frequency may be reduced according to a predetermined step size until its stability is within the first preset range.

[0052] The first preset range may be determined according to actual requirements. For example, the first preset range is as follows: an error in weighing data of a 1-ton object is less than 0.5 kg.

[0053] It should be noted that the weighing data in steps S10 to S50 above is real-time data or data collected within a time period. As the data is updated or different, the setting of the cut-off frequency changes dynamically. Therefore, the weighing method of the present  application has good adaptability and can obtain the current optimal cut-off frequency in a timely manner, so that the forklift scale can always output high-accuracy weighing results during the dynamic process.

[0054] In an embodiment, the cut-off frequency is related to the forklift speed. The inventors of the present application found that spectral distribution characteristics of the second data vary at different forklift speeds. Therefore, dynamically setting the cut-off frequency make second-stage filtering suitable for different forklift speeds, thereby effectively suppressing low-frequency noise at different forklift speeds, and obtaining high-accuracy weighing results at various forklift speeds.

[0055] In some embodiments, after the segment of processed data is obtained in step S50, the method further includes: performing data statistical processing on the processed data to obtain a weighing result. Processed data that is not subjected to the data statistical processing may not meet the preset accuracy. In these embodiments, the weighing data is processed using a statistical method, for example, the average value or the maximum value of the processed data within the first preset time period is obtained, and the average value or the maximum value is used as the weighing result, to meet the preset accuracy requirements.

[0056] The preset accuracy may be set according to standard accuracy requirements, for example, meeting the C1 accuracy requirement, that is, the accuracy meets one thousandth, i.e., an error of less than 1 kg for a weight of 1 ton.

[0057] FIG. 2 is a flowchart of a weighing method for a dynamic forklift scale according to another embodiment of the present application. This embodiment is a specific implementation of the embodiment shown in FIG. 1. For related content, reference may be made to the above description, and is not repeated here. Referring to FIG. 2, the weighing method includes the following steps.

[0058] Step S200: Obtain a weight input and an acceleration input, which is equivalent to step S10 shown in FIG. 1. After obtaining the weighing data and the acceleration data separately, the process continues to be performed in two branches.

[0059] Step S210: Perform first-stage filtering processing on the weighing data. The first-stage filter described above may be used here.

[0060] Step S211: Determine whether stability of the weighing data after being subjected to the first-stage filtering processing meets the requirements, that is, whether it is within a  first preset range; and if yes, perform step S230; or if no, perform step S222. If the stability does not meet the requirements, it indicates that the forklift is in an unstable phase.

[0061] Step S220: Perform smooth filtering processing on the acceleration data. The present application does not limit the selection of a smoothing filter, and a smoothing filter commonly used in the art may be selected.

[0062] Step S221: Identify an operation state of the forklift, which may include steps S30 and S40, and step S41 described above.

[0063] Step S222: Determine, based on an identification result, whether the forklift is currently in a constant speed operation state or a constant acceleration operation state; and if yes, perform step S223; or if no, stop performing the weighing process, or return to step S221, to continue to identify the operation state of the forklift.

[0064] Step S223: Enable second-stage filtering, where the cut-off frequency of the second-stage filter is set according to the second data in step S40.

[0065] Step S230: Perform data statistics on the data from the two branches. When the determining result in step S211 is yes, data used for the data statistical processing in this step is weighing data in the static state, and a weighing result after the processing is obtained. When the forklift is in the dynamic state, and after weighing data is processed in step S223, processed data is obtained. These data are subjected to data statistical processing, to obtain a weighing result.

[0066] Step S240: Output the weighing result.

[0067] According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the weighing data with the stability meeting the requirements can be obtained, and the weighing result with the accuracy meeting the requirements can be obtained from the weighing data.

[0068] The present application further provides a weighing system for a dynamic forklift scale. The system includes a memory and a processor. The memory is configured to store instructions executable by the processor. The processor is configured to execute the instructions to implement the weighing method for a dynamic forklift scale described above.

[0069] FIG. 3 is a system block diagram of a weighing system for a dynamic forklift scale according to an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG. 3, the  weighing system 300 may include an internal communications bus 301, a processor 302, a read-only memory (ROM) 303, a random access memory (RAM) 304, and a communications port 305. When applied to a personal computer, the weighing system 300 may further include a hard disk 306. The internal communication bus 301 may implement data communication between components of the weighing system 300. The processor 302 can perform determination and give a prompt. In some embodiments, the processor 302 may include one or more processors. The communication port 305 may implement data communication between the weighing system 300 and the outside. In some embodiments, the weighing system 300 may receive information and data from and send information and data to a network through the communication port 305. The weighing system 300 may further include different forms of program storage units and data storage units, such as the hard disk 306, the read-only memory (ROM) 303, and the random access memory (RAM) 304, which can store various data files used for computer processing and / or communication, and possible program instructions executable by the processor 302. The processor 302 executes these instructions to implement the main part of the method. A processing result from the processor 302 is transmitted to user equipment through the communication port 305 and displayed in a user interface.

[0070] The weighing system and method of the present application have the following beneficial effects:

[0071] (1) A two-stage filtering algorithm is set, so that the forklift scale can obtain a fast and stable weight signal in the dynamic state. Then, a statistical method is used, so that the weighing result that meets the accuracy (C1) requirement is finally given.

[0072] (2) The state of the dynamic forklift scale is identified based on the first data of the acceleration data in the traveling direction of the forklift, so that the constant speed phase and the constant acceleration phase of the forklift scale during operation can be identified, thereby enabling the second-stage filtering to remove dynamic noise and make the weighing data meet the required stability requirements.

[0073] (3) The second data of the acceleration data in the vertical direction is used as an important input for spectral analysis of noise. The second data directly reflects the main source of the noise of the forklift during motion. The frequency range of the noise is analyzed through spectral analysis, and is used as an important basis for setting the cut-off frequency of the second-stage filter. The cut-off frequency is related to the  operation speed of the forklift, so that the measurement accuracy at different forklift speeds can be met.

[0074] The weighing method described above may be implemented as a computer program, which may be stored in the hard disk 306, and loaded into the processor 302 for execution, so as to implement the weighing method of the present application.

[0075] The present application further includes a computer-readable medium storing computer program code. The computer program code, when executed by a processor, causes the weighing method described above to be implemented.

[0076] The weighing method may also be stored, as an article of manufacture, in the computer-readable storage medium when implemented as the computer program. For example, the computer-readable storage media may include, but are not limited to, a magnetic storage device (e.g., a hard disk, a floppy disk, and a magnetic stripe) , an optical disc (e.g., a compact disc (CD) , and a digital versatile disc (DVD) ) , a smart card, and a flash memory device (e.g., an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) , a card, a stick, and a key driver) . In addition, various storage media described herein can represent one or more devices and / or other machine-readable media for storing information. The term "machine-readable medium" may include, but is not limited to, wireless channels and various other media (and / or storage media) capable of storing, containing, and / or carrying code and / or instructions and / or data.

[0080] The basic concepts have been described above. Obviously, for those skilled in the art, the foregoing disclosure of the present invention is merely an example, and does not constitute a limitation to the present application. Those skilled in the art may make various modifications, improvements, and amendments to the present application, although it is not explicitly stated here. Such modifications, improvements, and amendments are suggested in the present application, and therefore, such modifications, improvements, and amendments still fall within the spirit and scope of exemplary embodiments of the present application.

[0081] Also, the present application uses specific words to describe the embodiments of the present application. For example, "one embodiment" , "an embodiment" , and / or "some embodiments" mean a feature, structure, or characteristic associated with at least one embodiment of the present application. Therefore, it should be emphasized and noted that two or more references to "an embodiment" , "one embodiment" , or "an alternative embodiment" in various places in this specification do not necessarily indicate the same embodiment. In addition, some features, structures, or characteristics in one or more embodiments of the present application may be combined appropriately.

[0082] In some embodiments, numbers for describing the number of compositions and attributes are used. It should be understood that such numbers used in the description of the embodiments are modified by the modifier "about" , "approximately" , or "substantially" in some examples. Unless otherwise stated, "about" , "approximately" , or "substantially" indicates that the number is allowed to vary by ±20%. Correspondingly, in some embodiments, the numerical parameters used in the specification and claims are approximate values, and the approximate values can be changed according to the required characteristics of individual embodiments. In some embodiments, for the numerical parameters, the specified significant digits should be taken into consideration, and a general digit reservation method should be used. Although the numerical ranges and parameters used to confirm the breadth of the ranges of the numerical parameters in some embodiments of the present application are approximate values, such numerical values need to be set as precisely as possible within a feasible range in specific embodiments.
