Abstract
Description
Interchangeable elastic button cover Technology sector The invention falls within the clothing accessories sector, particularly within haberdashery and buttons (International Patent Classification A44B), more specifically in solutions that allow the customization and aesthetic modification of textile garment buttons in a reversible manner. Background of the invention The prior art includes buttons permanently coated with decorative layers, as well as interchangeable buttons where the front piece is replaced by rigid fasteners, magnets, or adhesives (e.g., documents EP2078469A2, WO2016109249A1). However, these solutions have technical limitations: they require several parts, fastening mechanisms, or replacement of the entire button, which increases the cost of the product and makes it difficult to use in the home. There is a need for a simple, economical, and reversible system that allows the user to modify the appearance of the buttons on a garment without sewing or replacing the original button, and that can be easily put on and taken off. Explanation of the invention The invention proposes an interchangeable elastic cover that is placed over a conventional textile garment button. - The cover consists of a tubular or semi-spherical body made of elastic material (silicone latex, thermoplastic polyurethane or other flexible polymer). TPU: Thermoplastic polyurethane, is a flexible and versatile material used in a variety of applications due to its excellent elasticity, tear resistance, and durability, as well as its ability to withstand adverse conditions such as abrasion and exposure to chemicals. TPU can be formulated to have different levels of hardness and flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of uses. - It has an opening with a diameter slightly smaller than the button. - During installation, the cover expands elastically to allow the button to pass through. - Once in position, the material contracts elastically, fitting snugly around the button without the need for adhesives, magnets, or mechanical fasteners. - It can partially or fully cover the button, allowing for aesthetic customization or even improved ergonomics. The outer surface can incorporate colors, textures, patterns, or decorative reliefs. It offers simplicity, low cost, reusability, adaptability, and customization, allowing the cover to expand when the button is inserted and adjust by elastic contraction around it, remaining securely and reversibly fixed without the need for adhesives, magnets, or additional mechanical means. The cover wraps around the button, including the back for a secure fit. Only the front and sides provide the aesthetic element, and these may feature reliefs, textures, colors, or patterns for decorative or functional purposes. Designed to modify the ergonomics of the button, increasing its apparent diameter to facilitate gripping and handling of the garment. It allows you to easily modify the aesthetic and functional appearance of buttons on textile garments, without needing to replace or sew them. Brief description of the drawings Figure 1: Perspective view of the cover (1) before its placement with respect to a button (2). Figure 2: Placement process, the cover (1) is stretched to cover the button (2). Figure 3: View of the cover (1) fitted over the button (2) in the use position. Numerical references: 1.- Interchangeable elastic cover 2. Textile garment button Detailed presentation In a preferred embodiment, the cover is made of the indicated flexible materials. It has a semi-spherical cap shape, with a rear opening 20% smaller in diameter than the standard button it is intended for (e.g., a 12mm shirt button). During placement, the opening expands to allow the button to be inserted, and when released it adjusts elastically, leaving the case firmly fixed. Possible variations: - Full coverage (condom / balloon type), where the cover covers the front of the button including its back. - Partial coverage (only the visible face), where the case only covers the front face of the button and part of its side perimeter. - Protective transparent case. - Cover decorated with prints or reliefs, of different textures.
Claims
1. An interchangeable button cover, characterized by being made of an elastic, tubular or semi-spherical body of flexible and deformable material, having an opening with a diameter smaller than that of the button for which it is intended, so that the cover can expand when the button is inserted and adjust by elastic contraction around said button.
2. The cover according to claim 1, wherein the elastic material is selected from latex or silicone.
3. The cover according to any of the preceding claims, the outer surface of which has reliefs, textures, colors, or patterns.
4. The cover according to any of the preceding claims, with an approximate thickness of 0.5 mm.
