Abstract
Description
Folding, foldable and extendable table Object of the invention This descriptive report refers to a Utility Model relating to a folding, collapsible and extendable table, with special application in the furniture manufacturing industry for homes and hospitals, mainly for bedrooms and whose evident purpose is to obtain a practical, easy-to-use product, simple and economical to manufacture, and that allows the user, whether for convalescence or comfort, to handle it correctly, achieving a durable and aesthetic result, simplifying and facilitating its use, as well as assembly, replacement, cleaning and storage. Field of invention This invention has its application within industry in general, especially including the manufacture of furniture industry accessories for homes, hotels, residences and hospitals, where the staff who use them for comfort or due to their convalescent situation and with a reduced location and storage space, limits the movements of people or staff in the case of hotels, residences, hospitals, etc., avoiding as far as possible that it becomes an obstacle. Description of the invention The folding, collapsible and extendable table proposed by the invention constitutes, in itself, an obvious solution to the current problem in this area, allowing for easy, safe and simple assembly, disassembly, storage and handling, obtaining an aesthetic and durable result in daily tasks, not only in bedrooms in homes, but also in lodging and hospital places, without diminishing the subsequent results, and all this from a simple and economical product. Everyone is aware of the current problem arising from the use of side tables in bedrooms of homes, hospitals, hotels, guesthouses, etc., which need space to place them and not get in the way. In some cases, the space is not very large, but in most cases, they are a complete nuisance, especially when we are all aware of the fleeting use given to this type of furniture or the period of time they are used to a greater or lesser extent. When a side table is needed in temporary accommodation, whether in hotels, hospitals, or private homes, space is often limited. The classic wheeled tables we all know, commonly used in homes, hospitals, or residences, are often cumbersome and obstruct the movement of people and, in some cases, maintenance staff, not to mention the transport and mobility required for maintenance. This is all compounded when, lacking side tables, trays with or without legs or stands are placed on the bed or attached to its side. This not only hinders people's movement but also makes something as routine as cleaning the room almost impossible. All the aforementioned problems are satisfactorily resolved with the proposed system, which consists of a folding, hinged and extendable table, with a rectangular frame or panel anchored and attached to the wall above the headboard of the bed. Two shock-absorbing arms are anchored to the lower lateral part of the frame, extending upwards with movable clamps at their ends that hold two parallel telescopic tubes. These tubes are joined by another horizontal tube to the wall frame or panel by means of classic supports with bearings inside to facilitate folding them up and down. At their beginning, these tubes have a curve of approximately 135° downwards in a short section, which then resumes the same trajectory with another bend of the same degree in the opposite direction. This section acts as a stop against two blocks also anchored to the wall panel or frame, creating an outward tilt of approximately 45°. The telescopic tube extends as needed, reaching a rotating ball joint with automatic locking at 135°. From this joint, two independent telescopic tubes extend, supporting a tabletop. These telescopic tubes allow the tabletop to be moved and positioned at the correct distance using adjusters. To fold the table away, the entire process is reversed, starting with the tubular arms that support the table. These arms are folded upwards at the ball joint connecting the longer tubes, positioning the tabletop parallel to them. The entire assembly is then folded upwards until it is almost parallel to the wall, without actually touching it.Thanks to a new pair of circular stops that emerge from the upper part of the frame or panel, these being smaller than those on the lower part of the frame or panel, it remains positioned at the top, thanks to the gas shock absorber arms that hold the tubular supports. The advantages and effects derived from the claimed Model are as follows: - Due to its possibility of mass production and with inexpensive and commonly used materials, the cost of the product is very low. - Because of the space it occupies when folded, which allows for much more space in rooms or bedrooms. - Because when folded completely against the wall at half height, in hospital rooms or bedrooms they cease to be an obstacle to cleaning the room. - Because of its simple folding and unfolding, it allows anyone to maneuver it with ease from their own bed and adapt it to the most comfortable position, giving people freedom of movement. Description of the drawings To complement the description being made, and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive report is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by sheets of drawings in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented: Figure number 1.- Shows the plan view of the table unfolded with the fastening elements on the wall and its stops. Figure number 2 shows the elevation view of the table unfolded on the bed. Figure number 3 shows the profile view of the assembly deployed on the bed. Figure number 4 shows a profile view of the assembly folded and raised against the wall. Figure number 5 shows a perspective view of the semi-deployed assembly, where all the elements that make it up can be seen. Preferred embodiment of the invention Judging from the figures shown, it can be observed that it is a table (1) as the final part of a folding and hinged system, which begins with a cloth or frame (2) attached to the wall (3) and above the headboard (4) of the bed (5), on which are located parallel, two tubular shock absorbers (6) extending upwards with movable clamps (7) with two telescopic and parallel tubular arms at their ends (8), which are joined by a tubular bar (9) attached and parallel to the cloth or frame (2), sliding along the two classic supports (10), which are also attached to the cloth or frame (2) on the wall (3) with conventional bearings inside so that they can be folded up and down, the telescopic and parallel tubular arms (8), at their beginning, after the clamp (7) of the tubular shock absorber (6) have two curves downwards and upwards (11) and an approximate graduation of 135° so that,On the descent, rest with the lower stops (12) of the frame (2) as the end of the travel, in the telescopic and parallel tubular arms (8), in their central area, are the regulators (13) to give more or less length and at the end of them and by means of the ball joints (14) to be able to fold down to approximately 135° two new telescopic tubes (15) that join under the table (1) and serve as support for it, which can be brought closer or further away by means of the regulators (16). By means of the ball joints (14) folding the two telescopic tubes (15) in reverse, we fold the table (1) semi parallel to the tubular, telescopic and parallel arms (8), which, in turn, will rise, folding down towards the cloth or frame (2) attached to the wall (3) and which, thanks to the shock absorbers (6), will reach the upper stops (17) so as not to reach the wall itself (3) above the frame (2),Both the upper stops (17) located at the top of the frame (2) and the lower stops (12) located in the middle of the frame (2) are adjustable to give more or less degree of adjustment in its folding, either upwards to fold down the table (1) or downwards to extend it. It is not considered necessary to make this description more extensive so that any expert in the field can understand the scope of the invention and the advantages derived from it. The materials, shape, size and arrangement of the elements will be subject to variation, provided that this does not imply an alteration to the essence of the invention. The terms in which this report has been described should always be taken in a broad and non-limiting sense.
