Description

Protective device for ropes, hoses, cables and similar items Technology sector The present invention relates to a protective device for ropes, hoses, cables and the like, specially designed to protect these items against abrasion, cutting, puncture, chemical attack, etc. The object of the invention is to provide an easy-to-implant, modular device, that is, capable of being coupled to other devices of the same type in case a greater operating length and / or width is required, which allows for avoiding damage to ropes, hoses and cables during use. The invention is therefore situated in the field of safety elements, with particular application in the field of high-altitude rescue and vertical work, being of great application in the fire sector, without ruling out other areas where similar performance is required. Background of the invention In the practical application of the invention, when using ropes, hoses, cables or similar elements, it is possible that they may be passed through areas where friction, scratches, cuts or exposure to splashes of abrasive products may occur and cause damage, compromising safety. Thus, although some of these elements are oversized or coated in some cases with reinforcing layers, such as some types of hoses, these coatings are not sufficiently effective when the hose, rope or element in question is moved or stretched over certain rough or sharp surfaces. Explanation of the invention The protective device for ropes, hoses and similar items that is advocated fully and satisfactorily solves the problem described above, based on a simple but highly effective solution. To this end, the device of the invention is made up of a flexible, essentially elongated rectangular, laminar element, resistant to abrasion and cuts, a laminar body on whose inner face four loops are established for mounting a consumable element, specifically a band with textile support of slightly smaller dimensions, which includes in correspondence with its respective vertices holes or eyelets for the passage of the aforementioned loops. This allows the consumable element to be easily mounted and dismounted from the inner face of the device, for example, to pass a hose between the two pieces, or, when dealing with ropes, which are subjected to a lot of friction on the device, so that this friction occurs on the outer face of the consumable element, so that the wear only affects this piece, which is less expensive and can be easily replaced. More specifically, these two pieces will be stabilized by means of carabiners that are passed through both loops at one and the other end of the device, carabiners that in the case of the ropes will be used to pass these ropes through them, guiding the ropes so that all the friction is directed towards the protection area, preventing the ropes from coming out and remaining in the opposite way to how it happens with the hoses, arranged on the outer face of the consumable element. According to another feature of the invention, it has been provided that the consumable element is additionally linked to the inner face of the main body of the device by means of adhesive strips of velcro type or other anchoring systems such as buckles, magnets, snaps, buttons etc. In any case, the rope, cable or hose will be protected by the device of the invention once installed on it, so that it is placed over areas that could damage it, such as columns with sharp edges, certain tree trunks, etc., thus leaving this element properly protected. According to another feature of the invention, the device has a modular character, being able to be coupled to other devices of the same type, both transversely and longitudinally, either to increase the number of lines to be protected, or to increase the length of the protected surface. In the first case, two devices can be linked laterally to each other by means of the consumable element of one of them, since its special structure allows it to be arranged as a link between both main bodies, linking the eyelets on one of its sides to the loops of one of the devices, while the eyelets on its opposite side will be linked to the loops of the adjacent device, stabilizing the assembly through the corresponding carabiners. In parallel, it has been planned that the main body of the device will be finished at its vertices in two circular holes that allow the devices to be attached longitudinally using carabiners, thus increasing the surface / length of the protected line. These coupling means allow some flexibility in the coupling between devices, being able to change direction within a certain range of angles, according to the specific needs of each case. This modular character gives the device of the invention great versatility, making it easy to adapt to different requirements. Finally, it only remains to point out that the device thus described can be complemented with a wrap-around case that can store two or more devices like the one described, equipped with velcro strips or sewn-in straps as hangers to stabilize said devices, as well as a series of longitudinal elastic bands fixed by gatherings that determine means for hanging other accessories. Brief description of the drawings To complement the description that follows and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred example of its practical embodiment, a set of drawings is included as an integral part of said description, in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented: Figure 1.- Shows a plan and exploded view of a protective device for ropes, hoses and the like made in accordance with the object of the present invention. Figure 2 shows a plan view of the device with its consumables properly mounted. Figure 3 shows a view similar to that of Figure 2, but with the device attached to a rope. Figure 4 shows a view similar to that of Figure 2, but with the device applied to a hose. Figure 5 shows a screen view of the device coupled laterally to another device of the same type. Figure 6 shows a plan view of the device coupled longitudinally to a device of the same type. Figure 7 shows a view similar to that of Figure 6, but in which both devices exhibit some longitudinal deviation, when such longitudinal adjustment is required. Figure 8 finally shows a plan view of a pair of devices associated with a case for their storage and transport. Preferred embodiment of the invention In view of the figures described, it can be observed how the protective device for ropes, hoses and the like is made up of a main body (1) laminar, essentially elongated rectangular, of a textile and resistant nature, such as it may be based on aramid fabric or other materials resistant to rubbing / cuts / perforations, as well as to splashes of certain abrasive chemicals, whose outer face is intended to rest on the edge, column or surface through which a rope (2), hose (3) or element to be protected will be passed. On the inner face of the main body (1) are mounted four loops (4) for mounting a consumable element (5), specifically a rectangular textile band of slightly smaller dimensions, which includes in correspondence with its respective vertices holes or eyelets (6) for the passage of the aforementioned loops (4). This element will be made of a more economical textile material or of different materials in order to modulate the type of protection, so that it can be easily replaced at a minimal cost when it wears out, for example, due to the continuous rubbing of ropes (2). According to figures 3 and 4, the device can function in two different ways, placing the element to be protected between the main body (1) of protection and the consumable element (5), as in the case of the hoses (3), as shown in figure 4, or placing the consumable element (5) between the main body (1) of protection and the rope (2), as shown in figure 3. In either case, the consumable element (5) will be stabilized to the main body (1) by means of carabiners (7) that are passed between pairs of facing loops (4). Returning to Figure 1, it can be observed how both the main body (1) of protection, and the consumable element (5) include complementary anchoring systems (8-8) such as pairs of longitudinal adhesive strips of velcro type, buckles, magnets, snaps, buttons, etc. Based on this structure, and according to what is shown in figure 5, the device can be coupled laterally with other devices of the same type, so that using a single consumable element (5), it can be linked through its lateral eyelets (6) to the loops (4) of one and the other main body in their confluence zone, joining said assembly by means of the corresponding carabiners (7). The device can also be coupled longitudinally with other devices of the same type, as shown in figures 6 and 7, both in a straight line and at an angle, with the main body having holes (9) at its vertices for the passage of the corresponding carabiners (7) that allow two devices to be linked longitudinally and with some play. Finally, it only remains to point out that, as shown in Figure 8, the device will be complemented by a cover (10), shown in Figure 8, twice as wide as the device, to be able to hold two devices, which includes on its inner face Velcro strips for fixing two devices, and which on its opposite face includes longitudinal elastic bands (11) fixed by means of gathers that determine means for hanging other accessories. The device thus described allows for multiple ways of using / mounting the hose, rope or ropes to be protected, including, among others, the following: • Hose arranged between the main body and the consumable element. • Rope protected by the assembly formed by the main protection body and the consumable element. • Rope protected by the assembly formed by the main protection body and the consumable element and a second rope that runs between the main body and the consumable element. • Two devices connected laterally and linked to two elements to be protected. • Two devices connected longitudinally, in a straight line or at a specific angle, linked to the element to be protected. • Two ropes, one on the inside and one on the outside. • Etc. In short, and as previously stated, the modular nature of the device allows for countless assemblies to perfectly adapt to the specific needs of each case.
