Abstract

A bed bug trap, applicable to electrical outlets or sockets (2) or wall-mounted socket groups, characterized in that it is made up of three parts: a) A rear frame (1), square or rectangular in shape, with dimensions appropriate to the outer casing of the socket (2) or group of sockets around which it is intended to be installed, this frame having an adhesive padded layer for wall mounting on its rear face, and including a series of studs (3) on its front surface, which serve as the means for fixing the other two parts. b) A sheet-like body (4) which includes on its front face an adhesive coating forming a bed bug trapping surface with a frame-shaped configuration, through holes (5) for the studs (3), and which is replaceable. c) A decorative element (7), materialized in a frame with plan dimensions corresponding to the dimensions of the rear frame (1), provided with blind holes (8) into which the free ends of the studs (3) of the rear frame fit, so that in the coupling between parts an intermediate separation is defined determining a passage zone for bed bugs through the laminar body (4).

Description

Bed bug trap TECHNICAL SECTOR The present invention relates to a bed bug trap, specially designed to be installed in electrical outlets or wall sockets. The object of the invention is to provide an effective and aesthetically pleasing bed bug trap, with a structure in which the trapped insects are not visible unless the trap is disassembled, all with a very simple and modular structure, in which a series of replacement parts participate that guarantee an optimal aesthetic appearance of the whole at all times. The invention is applicable to both the tourism sector and domestic use. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In the practical application of the invention, when dealing with bed bug infestations, it is common for the bed bugs to move through the wall conduits of the electrical wiring, even after treating the affected room, and thus spread the infestation. While there are sticky traps based on simple strips that are placed on any surface so that insects get stuck to them as they pass by, these types of traps are obviously very unpleasant to look at when the trap is full of bed bugs or other insects. EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION The bed bug trap that is advocated fully and satisfactorily solves the problem described above, based on a simple but highly effective solution, with the captured insects remaining properly hidden inside the trap, which has a configuration in the form of an embellishing frame that goes completely unnoticed. To this end, and more specifically, the invention's trap consists of three pieces that are linked together to fit around the perimeter of the trim or housing of a plug, so that it simulates an additional trim for it. The first piece consists of a square or rectangular frame, as the trap can be adapted to single or multiple sockets. On its back face is included an adhesive padded layer for wall fixing, which allows it to adapt to irregularities in the wall, for example, if it includes finishes such as textured paint. On this piece is placed the trap itself, materialized in a laminar body in the form of a frame, which adapts to the first piece and includes an adhesive on its surface in which the bed bugs that try to access the room through the wiring conduits of the socket will be immobilized. This piece will have a "replaceable" character, and can be used to test rooms and detect the presence of bed bugs. In any case, and as previously stated, the trap will be hidden from the view of users by means of a third piece consisting of a square or rectangular frame that fits into the assembly, leaving a small separation or space between it and the trap itself, to define the only exit route for the bed bugs. Thus, this third piece has an ornamental / aesthetic character, since with it the direct view of the trap with the insects stuck on it is hidden, a piece that will be easily detachable to replace the trap itself periodically. This creates an effective and discreet bed bug trap, ideal for the tourism sector and even for domestic use. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS To complement the description that follows and to aid in a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is included as an integral part of said description, in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented: Figure 1 shows an exploded view of the three elements involved in a bed bug trap made according to the object of the present invention. Figure 2 shows a profile view of the wall fixing piece and the decorative piece that participate in the trap of the invention. Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the parallel but slightly separated arrangement of the pieces in the previous figure in their assembly, to leave an intermediate space for the exit of the bedbugs. Figure 4 shows, finally, a view from another perspective of the set in Figure 3. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION In view of the figures described, it can be observed how the trap of the invention is made up of three pieces that can be attached to each other; a first piece materialized in a rear frame (1), of quadrangular or rectangular configuration, with dimensions according to the outer casing plug (2) or group of plugs around which it is intended to be installed, having for this purpose on its rear face an adhesive padded layer for wall fixing that adapts to the irregularities of the wall. The rear frame (1) includes on its front face and preferably in correspondence with its vertices some properly centered studs (3), which serve as a means for implanting the other two pieces. The second piece consists of a sheet-like body (4) such as cardboard, which includes on its front face an adhesive coating specially designed to trap bed bugs when they try to cross said body, which will also have a frame-like configuration, with through holes (5) for the studs (3), and may include a tab (6) for pulling it when replacing this element in the function of a trap itself with a new one. Although the trap would be perfectly operational from this structure, it has been planned that, for aesthetic reasons, it is complemented with a trim (7), materialized in a frame with dimensions in plan according to the dimensions of the rear frame in which it fits, including blind holes (8) in which the free ends of the studs (3) fit, so that, this piece, as shown in figures 3 and especially in figure 4, is slightly distanced from the rear frame (1) defining a space (9) as the only exit for the bed bugs that access the room through the plug conduits, a space in which the laminar body (4) with adhesive is present in which they will be immobilized. Finally, it should be noted that, although the device has been described as an element that adapts to an existing plug, it could form part of the plug itself, replacing the decorative cover that incorporates this type of electrical mechanism.

Claims

1. A bed bug trap, applicable to electrical outlets or sockets (2) or wall-mounted socket groups, characterized in that it is made up of three parts: a) A rear frame (1), square or rectangular in shape, with dimensions appropriate to the outer casing of the socket (2) or group of sockets around which it is intended to be installed, this frame having an adhesive padded layer for wall mounting on its rear face, and including a series of studs (3) on its front surface, which serve as the means for fixing the other two parts. b) A sheet-like body (4) which includes on its front face an adhesive coating forming a bed bug trapping surface with a frame-shaped configuration, through holes (5) for the studs (3), and which is replaceable.c) A decorative element (7), materialized in a frame with plan dimensions corresponding to the dimensions of the rear frame (1), provided with blind holes (8) into which the free ends of the studs (3) of the rear frame fit, so that in the coupling between parts an intermediate separation is defined determining a passage zone for bed bugs through the laminar body (4).

2. Bed bug trap, according to claim 1, characterized in that the laminar body (4) includes a manual gripping tab (6).
