Description

SMART PEDESTRIAN CROSSING BASED ON SPEED APPROACHING VEHICLE TECHNICAL SECTOR The purpose of this utility model application is to register an intelligent pedestrian crossing based on the speed of the approaching vehicle, incorporating a series of advantages over current intelligent pedestrian crossings that only detect the presence of pedestrians preparing to cross. It is well known that road traffic injuries are the eighth leading cause of death worldwide. Each year, more than one million people die globally as a result of traffic accidents, with fifty more being injured. Among all types of road traffic accidents, pedestrian collisions in urban areas and at crosswalks account for a high percentage of victims in these overall statistics. The present model belongs to the field of road safety and is presented to try to reduce this type of road accident at pedestrian crossings with the highest accident rate, moving towards the objectives of the "Road Safety Strategy 2030" and that no one should die or be seriously injured by a road accident in 2050. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Currently, there are some solutions related to the present invention. There are pedestrian crossings that detect only the presence of pedestrians preparing to cross, illuminating the crossing itself and warning only the approaching driver so that they can anticipate their reaction. However, the function of the described system goes further, as it alerts both pedestrians and drivers, as well as other road users (witnesses), based on the pedestrian crossing's lighting and its color. Furthermore, it incorporates an audible warning system to further attract pedestrians' attention, since an increasing number are crossing these designated crossings without paying attention, using their mobile devices and / or headphones. These audible warnings also allow visually impaired people to cross more safely. EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION This model focuses on reducing pedestrian accidents at crossings with the highest accident rates. It uses visual and auditory alerts to capture the attention of all those involved in a pedestrian accident. The model includes the pedestrian crossing implemented on the road itself, the vertical signage of the pedestrian crossing with the detectors and the acoustic warning device installed on its mast, and the speed information radar. The pedestrian crossing consists of longitudinal road markings painted on the road along with the LED light panels installed at its ends. The vertical signage for the pedestrian crossing will also be illuminated and will implement on its mast both the pedestrian detector, as well as the vehicle detector and the acoustic device. The speed information radar will be placed beforehand at a distance from the pedestrian crossing and the vertical sign, calculated according to the generic speed of the road, which allows the vehicle to stop safely to avoid a road accident by running over if the driver of the vehicle is driving with due attention and at a speed appropriate to the road. All components will be solar-powered and supplemented with electricity from public lighting. Furthermore, the model will be connected to a smart mobility platform, allowing access to all information via a web viewer and enabling various configurations, including turning the model on and off. This intelligent pedestrian crossing, which adjusts based on the speed of the approaching vehicle, aims to solve road accidents at critical points that generate a large number of victims on urban roads for vulnerable users. To achieve this, the model will attempt to stimulate the attention of both parties involved in a pedestrian collision using visual and audible signals, increasing the alertness level of both drivers and pedestrians. Similarly, it will also stimulate the attention of other road users, allowing law enforcement agencies with traffic jurisdiction to obtain statements from ideal witnesses. Should a traffic accident occur, these ideal witnesses will make the investigation and reconstruction of the collision more reliable and efficient, as authorities will have access to more accurate and realistic data. This will allow for a more rigorous determination of both civil and criminal liability in the event of such a tragic incident. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS To complement the description and to aid in a better understanding of the model, a set of illustrative figures is included, and the following has been represented: Figure 1 shows a top-down sketch of the model with all its components and their arrangement. Figure 2 shows a more detailed sketch of all the model's components and their arrangement. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION In one example of the model's implementation, it is presented for a two-way road with one lane in each direction and a generic speed limit of 30 km / h. The model could be extrapolated to any road, with the exception of the placement distance of the speed display radar, which depends on the road's speed limit, as this directly impacts the safe stopping of an approaching vehicle. The intelligent pedestrian crossing based on the speed of the approaching vehicle is formed by the longitudinal road markings painted on the road together with the luminous LED panels installed at its ends (1), synchronized with the vertical and luminous S-13 sign (2) located at the beginning of the pedestrian crossing, with the pedestrian detector (3), vehicle detector (4), the acoustic device (5) installed on its mast and with the speed information radar (6) placed prior to the pedestrian crossing. The LED panels (1) will be placed at the ends of the longitudinal road markings of the pedestrian crossing and will be low-energy and adjustable in intensity and color. They will illuminate white when the pedestrian detector (3) detects a pedestrian crossing and red when the approaching vehicle is traveling at a speed greater than the general speed limit for the road, as indicated by the speed display (6) previously installed. When both conditions are met, the red light (speeding) will take precedence over the white light (pedestrian crossing). The vertical sign for pedestrian crossing S-13 (2) will be placed at the beginning of the pedestrian crossing according to the direction of vehicle traffic. It will be illuminated and have adjustable daytime and nighttime lighting. The different detectors (3, 4) and the audible alarm (5) will be attached to the mast of said vertical sign. The pedestrian detector (3) will use a smart urban sensor with thermographic technology to activate the LED pedestrian crossing lights (1) with white light and the S-13 illuminated vertical sign (2). Both lighting devices (1, 2) will be deactivated when the pedestrian has completely crossed the pedestrian crossing on the opposite side. The vehicle detector (4) is activated when the speed display radar (6) has previously detected that an approaching vehicle is speeding. This detector (4) also uses an intelligent urban sensor, distinguishes between vehicle types, and is synchronized with both the audible warning device (5) and the LED pedestrian crossing signs (1). When the speeding vehicle has passed the pedestrian crossing, the vehicle detector (4) deactivates the audible warning device (5) and the red LED pedestrian crossing signs (1). The acoustic device (5) is synchronized with the speed radar (6) and the vehicle detector (4). This acoustic device (5) allows the sound level to be adjusted according to the ambient noise. The sound it emits begins when the speed radar (6) detects that a vehicle is speeding as it approaches the pedestrian crossing, which will also activate the red LED signs (1). The sound stops when the vehicle detector (4) identifies that the vehicle has completely passed the pedestrian crossing. The speed information radar (6), placed at a pre-calculated distance so that a vehicle can be stopped according to the evolution of a braking if it starts to brake at this point and travels at a speed higher than the generic one (up to 20 km / h higher, which is the proposed safety margin), is synchronized with the LED signs of the pedestrian crossing (1) to activate the red light, the vehicle detector (4) and the acoustic device (5). Thus, the general operation of the model will be as follows: On the one hand, and as is currently the case, the model detects pedestrians about to cross using the pedestrian detector (3), activating the white LED signs at the crosswalk (1), thus alerting the driver that a pedestrian is approaching. Furthermore, to further enhance the driver's awareness, the S-13 vertical sign (2) located at the beginning of the crosswalk is also illuminated. The white LED (1) and the S-13 vertical sign (2) are deactivated once the pedestrian has crossed the crosswalk on the opposite side. On the other hand, and this being the novel aspect of the invention, the model detects vehicles approaching a pedestrian crossing at excessive speed using the speed display radar (6), activating the LED pedestrian crossing signs (1) with a red light and also the audible warning device (5). This alerts the driver, prompting them to reduce their speed before reaching the crossing, and also alerts the pedestrian, warning them that, despite having priority at the designated crossing, they should exercise extreme caution due to the speed of the approaching vehicle. Both the red illumination of the LED pedestrian crossing signs (1) and the sound emitted by the audible warning device (5) are deactivated when the vehicle detector (4) identifies that the vehicle has passed the pedestrian crossing. In addition to the reduction in pedestrian accidents that would be achieved at this point with the model, once the tragic event has occurred, the information obtained simply by achieving it will be of special importance for its reconstruction and investigation, since, due to its prior analysis, two circumstances (excessive speed and the driver's lack of attention) would be a priori crucial to continue the investigation and prepare the reports and technical reports.
