Abstract

A device for lifting the seat in extendable furniture, for furniture such as sofas, chaise lounges and the like, comprising a support base (1) with respective dorsal and front ends (1.1, 1.2), and a seat (2) supported on a frame (3) movable with respect to the base (1), which has an initial position with a dorsal end (3.1) located closer to the dorsal end (1.1) of the base (1) than to the front end thereof and a final extended position in which the dorsal end (3.1) of the frame (3) has a displacement D1 towards the front end (1.2) of the base (1), characterized in that it comprises an articulated mechanism fixed to each side (4) of the base (1), a connecting rod (5) between both mechanisms and, respective stops (6) for simultaneous activation of said mechanisms, where each of them is located on a side of the lower surface (7) of the frame (3) in an intermediate position between the dorsal and front ends (3.1, 3.2) of the same, where each articulated mechanism comprises: - a fixing element (8) to the side (4) of the base (1); - a hinge (9) on the fixing element (8) and connected thereto; and - a push wheel (10) fixed on the hinge (9) so that it is in contact with the lower surface (7) of the frame (3), and located between the stop (6) and the front end (1.2) of the base (1), at a distance D1 from said stop (6) for the initial position of the frame (3), so that in the final extended position of the frame (3), the stop (6) is located adjacent to the push wheel (10) and, for a displacement D2 greater than D1, the stop (6) is capable of activating the rotation of the hinge (9) and the lifting of the front end (3.2) of the frame (3) by lifting and displacing the push wheel (10) and the upward thrust of the latter on its lower surface (7).

Description

Device for lifting the seat of extendable furniture Technical field of the invention The present invention pertains to the technical field of extendable furniture such as sofas, chaise lounges and the like, comprising a support base and a seat supported on a frame movable with respect to the base, and specifically to a device for lifting the seat of this extendable furniture. Background of the Invention Currently, there are many pieces of furniture for relaxation, such as sofas, chaise lounges, and similar items, that offer the possibility of extending the seating area to provide greater comfort to the user, since with this extension, a larger area is available for the user to recline or even lie down comfortably. Other furniture is reclinable and, by turning its backrest and raising a footrest, allows the user to also obtain a reclined position. In any of these cases, the position achieved for the legs is aligned with the rest of the body, providing a virtually horizontal position. Many people experience circulatory problems due to their jobs, which either require them to stand for long periods or, conversely, to sit in front of a computer in the same position throughout the workday. This can lead to circulatory problems and a feeling of tired legs, as prolonged sitting in the same position causes tension to accumulate, affecting the feet and even the hips. It has been shown that elevating the legs above the level of the heart can reduce cardiac strain by promoting venous blood flow and improving overall heart health. Simply elevating your legs for a short time each day can release tension and provide significant relief. It also helps alleviate edema in the feet and legs, as raising the legs reactivates the circulation of fluids that were stagnating and causing swelling. Another benefit is related to the nervous system, since circulation is related to breathing and both help to relax the body and relieve muscle tension in the stomach, neck and temples. Similarly, elevating your legs can improve digestion by optimizing the passage of fluids that may be trapped in the intestines. This indirectly contributes to an improved mood. It also provides mental relief because proper circulation allows the body to move correctly, which brings harmony and mental tranquility. That is why it is a necessary challenge to find a way to offer users the possibility of placing themselves in this position in an easy, comfortable and safe way, without having to adopt uncomfortable positions on the floor or on the bed that may generate a loss of balance. As already indicated, existing extendable furniture allows a horizontal position for the user, and other reclining furniture has a footrest that raises the height of the feet to a position aligned with the horizontal of the rest of the body. There is another type of armchair that does raise the feet relative to the rest of the body, but these involve complicated systems and mechanisms that rotate the entire armchair. They are typically purchased for this purpose, making them an additional piece of furniture to the rest of the home's furnishings. They require space and are often aesthetically unappealing because they don't match the style of the other furniture in the room. It is therefore necessary to find a way to provide extendable furniture with this additional function so that users can obtain the relaxation and benefits that come with this elevated feet posture, in the same type of furniture that is already part of the normal furniture of a home, and that is used for normal use on a daily basis. Description of the invention The device for lifting the seat of extendable furniture presented here is intended for furniture such as sofas, chaise lounges, and the like, comprising a support base with dorsal and frontal ends, and a seat supported on a frame that can be moved relative to the base. This frame has an initial position with its dorsal end closer to the dorsal end of the base than to its frontal end, and a final extended position in which its dorsal end is displaced D1 towards the frontal end of the base. This lifting device comprises an articulated mechanism fixed to each side of the base, a connecting rod between both mechanisms, and two stops for simultaneous activation of said mechanisms. These stops are located on one of the sides of the lower face of the frame, in an intermediate position between the dorsal and front ends of the frame. For its part, each articulated mechanism comprises a fixing element to the side of the base, a compass hinge on and connected to the fixing element, and a push wheel fixed on the hinge so that it is in contact with the lower surface of the frame. This push wheel is located between the stop and the front end of the base, at a distance D1 from said stop for the initial position of the frame, so that in the final extended position of the frame, the stop is located adjacent to the push wheel and, for a displacement D2 greater than D1, the stop is capable of activating the rotation of the hinge and the lifting of the front end of the frame by lifting and moving the wheel and pushing it upwards on its lower surface. The device for lifting seats of extendable furniture proposed here represents a significant improvement over the state of the art. This is because a device is obtained with which it is possible to raise the front of the seat from its extended position, achieving a resting mode in which the user is reclined or lying down and their feet will be raised above heart level, thus promoting circulation and achieving all the beneficial effects of this posture. To do this, the user does not need to adopt complicated or unstable balance positions, but simply lies comfortably on the sofa or chaise lounge in its raised position at the front of the seat and enjoy the benefits it provides. A great advantage of this device is that it allows the front of the seat to be raised with virtually no effort, as the movement itself, from a certain distance, generates the upward push of the seat by the push wheel located under the seat and activated by the stop. This piece of furniture can have a storage space under the seat for storing cushions or anything else, and this device helps to lift the hardest part, which is when the lifting begins. Then, if you want to continue raising the seat to access the lower space, it is easier from the position of the seat with the front part raised. It is therefore a very effective device that allows the user to obtain all the advantages of a specific posture without having to make practically any effort and without having to resort to buying another piece of furniture for this purpose, since the extendable furniture that is used to enjoy moments of rest also achieves this relaxing and therapeutic function at the same time. Brief description of the drawings In order to aid a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred embodiment thereof, a series of drawings are provided as an integral part of this description, where, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented: Figure 1 shows a bottom perspective view of a piece of furniture in an initial position with a device for lifting the seat of extendable furniture, for a preferred embodiment of the invention. Figure 2 shows a bottom perspective view of a piece of furniture in an extended final position, with a device for lifting the seat of extendable furniture, for a preferred embodiment of the invention. Figure 3 shows a bottom perspective view of a piece of furniture in a raised seating position, with a device for lifting the seat of extendable furniture, for a preferred embodiment of the invention. Detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the invention As shown in the figures provided, it can be observed that in a preferred embodiment of the invention, the seat lifting device for extendable furniture proposed herein is suitable for furniture such as sofas, chaise lounges, and the like, comprising a support base (1) with dorsal and front ends (1.1, 1.2), and a seat (2) supported on a frame (3) that is movable relative to the base (1). This frame (3) has an initial position with a dorsal end (3.1) located closer to the dorsal end (1.1) of the base (1) than to its front end (1.2), as shown in Figure 1, and a final extended position, represented in Figure 2, in which its dorsal end (3.1) is displaced D1 towards the front end (1.2) of the base (1). This device comprises an articulated mechanism fixed to each side (4) of the base (1), a connecting rod (5) between both mechanisms and, two stops (6) for simultaneous activation of said mechanisms, where each of them is located on one side of the lower surface (7) of the frame (3) in an intermediate position between the dorsal and front ends (3.1, 3.2) thereof. The connecting rod (5) is shown in Figures 1 to 3 and allows synchronized movement of the mechanisms on both sides (4). Each of the articulated mechanisms comprises a fixing element (8) to the side (4) of the base (1), a hinge (9) on the fixing element (8) and connected to it, and a push wheel (10) fixed on the hinge (9) so that it is in contact with the lower surface (7) of the frame (3). The push wheel (10) is located between the stop (6) and the front end (1.2) of the base (1), at a distance D1 from the stop (6) for the initial position of the frame (3), as can be seen in Figure 1. This allows the stop (6) to be located adjacent to the push wheel (10) in the final extended position of the frame (3), as shown in Figure 2. Thus, from that moment on, for a displacement D2 greater than D1, the stop (6) is capable of activating the rotation of the hinge (9) and the lifting of the front end (3.2) of the frame (3) by lifting and moving the push wheel (10) and pushing it upwards on its lower surface (7), as shown in Figure 3. In this preferred embodiment of the invention, as shown in Figures 1 to 3, the compass hinge (9) comprises a first bar (11) with a first end (11.1) attached to the fixing element (8) and an opposite second end (11.2), and a second bar (12) with a first end (12.1) hinged to the second end (11.2) of the first bar (11) and an opposite second end (12.2) from which a support rod (13) for the push wheel (10) emerges perpendicularly. The second bar (12) is connected to the fixing element (8) by means of a connecting bar (14).

Claims

1. A device for lifting the seat in extendable furniture, for furniture such as sofas, chaise longues and the like, comprising a support base (1) with respective dorsal and front ends (1.1, 1.2), and a seat (2) supported on a frame (3) movable with respect to the base (1), which has an initial position with a dorsal end (3.1) located closer to the dorsal end (1.1) of the base (1) than to the front end thereof and a final extended position in which the dorsal end (3.1) of the frame (3) has a displacement D1 towards the front end (1.2) of the base (1), characterized in that it comprises an articulated mechanism fixed to each side (4) of the base (1), a connecting rod (5) between both mechanisms and, respective stops (6) for simultaneous activation of said mechanisms, where each of them is located on a side of the lower surface (7) of the frame (3) in an intermediate position between the dorsal and front ends (3.1, 3.2).2) thereof, wherein each articulated mechanism comprises: - a fixing element (8) to the side (4) of the base (1); - a hinge (9) on and connected to the fixing element (8); and - a push wheel (10) fixed on the hinge (9) so as to be in contact with the lower surface (7) of the frame (3), and located between the stop (6) and the front end (1.2) of the base (1), at a distance D1 from said stop (6) for the initial position of the frame (3), such that in the final extended position of the frame (3), the stop (6) is located adjacent to the push wheel (10) and, for a displacement D2 greater than D1, the stop (6) is capable of activating the rotation of the hinge (9) and the lifting of the front end (3.2) of the frame (3) by lifting and displacing the push wheel (10) and pushing upwards on its lower surface (7). 2.Device according to claim 1, wherein the hinge (9) compass comprises a first bar (11) with a first end (11.1) attached to the fixing element (8) and an opposite second end (11.2), and a second bar (12) with a first end (12.1) hinged to the second end (11.2) of the first bar (11) and an opposite second end (12.2) from which a support rod (13) for the push wheel (10) emerges perpendicularly, and wherein the second bar (12) is connected to the fixing element (8) by means of a connecting bar (14).
