Manufacturing process for solid sodium lactate particles and their application

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing solid sodium lactate (NaL) particles, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - providing a NaL melt with a chemical purity of at least 95% by weight and a water content of less than 5% by weight; - providing a cooling surface provided with at least partially crystalline NaL seed particles; - applying at least a portion of said melt onto the cooling surface; - crystallizing the NaL applied to the cooling surface, forming solid NaL; and - collecting at least a portion of the solid NaL from the cooling surface in the form of solid NaL particles. The invention also relates to at least partially crystalline NaL particles, with a chemical purity of at least 95% by weight, a water content of less than 5%, and an average weight of 1 to 100 mg per particle. The use of said particles is also claimed.
