Abstract

A latch for a sink lid, particularly for a swimming pool, consists of a support (301) and a pair of arms (101, 201). Each arm (101, 201) has a hinged portion (37) that allows it to rotate on the support (301). In addition, each arm (101, 201) has a terminal portion (5). These terminal portions (5) define, at least partially, a cavity (7) for housing a locking element. The terminal portions (5) of the arms (101, 201) separate when the latch is opened and move closer together when it is closed. Each arm (101, 201) also has an intermediate portion (9) that connects the hinged portion (37) to its terminal portion (5). The intermediate portions (9) of the arms (101, 201) are shaped into a mutually intersecting zone, active between the open and closed states of the latch.
