Abstract

A fenestration system includes a first and a second opposing rigid component, a gasket interposed between the first and second rigid component, said gasket being made of an electrically conductive material and exhibiting a reference resistance when placed between the first and second rigid component, and a control system communicably connected to the gasket by one or more wires and able to monitor the resistance of the gasket in real time and generate a signal when the real-time resistance deviates from the reference resistance.
