Abstract
The present invention relates to a secondary battery in which the length of a tabbed welded portion is adjusted to improve safety.A secondary battery, according to one aspect of the present invention, may include: an electrode assembly comprising at least one positive electrode plate provided with a positive electrode tab, at least one negative electrode plate provided with a negative electrode tab, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate; and a housing for accommodating the electrode assembly, in which multiple positive and negative electrode tabs are welded such that tabs of the same polarity overlap each other, to provide a tabbed portion and form an electrode conductor; and the lengths in the extension direction of the positive or negative electrode tabs of the tabbed portion are constant or different in the thickness direction of the positive or negative electrode tabs.
