AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods struggle to accurately evaluate the insulation performance of an overlay part in a lithium secondary battery without introducing new equipment, as measuring the thickness of the insulation coating layer is difficult due to its permeation into the electrode mixture layer.

Method used

A method involving simulating the overlay part and pure insulation coating layer using insulation coating liquid, collecting data on gap lengths and thicknesses, and deriving relational formulas to calculate the insulation capacity based on measured thickness of the pure insulation coating layer.

Benefits of technology

Enables accurate evaluation of insulation performance in the overlay part without requiring new equipment, ensuring reliable insulation assessment by reflecting the insulating performance of both the coating layer and permeated materials.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for evaluating the insulation of an overlapping part. The method comprises the steps of: (a) simulating the overlapping part and collecting data on the size (c) of an applicator space for applying an insulating coating solution, the increased thickness (d) due to the insulating coating, and the capacitance (f) of the overlapping part; (b) simulating a pure insulating coating layer and collecting data on the size (g) of an applicator space for applying an insulating coating solution and the thickness (h) of the pure insulating coating layer; (c) calculating the relational expression 1 between the thickness (H) of the pure insulating coating layer and the capacitance (F) of the overlapping part from the data collected through steps (a) and (b); (d) measuring the thickness of an insulating coating layer of an electrode for evaluation.and (e) calculate the capacity of the overlapping part by substituting the thickness of the insulating coating layer measured in step (d) into relational expression 1.;
