Abstract

The present invention describes a system and method for calculating an individual inflation index based on the personalized consumption patterns of an individual or household. The system collects expenditure data, classifies the goods and services consumed, assigns personalized weights to each category, and calculates the cost-of-living change by means of a weighted sum of the price changes. The invention allows for a personalized measurement of the inflation experienced by an individual, overcoming the limitations of traditional aggregate indices.
