Abstract
The present invention relates to a large-area photocatalytic composite membrane comprising a polyethersulfone (PES), cellulose nanofiber (CNF), reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and tungsten trioxide (WO3), and to 8 fabrication method for producing the membrane as a large-area flat-sheet configuration. The membrane is fabricated by a non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) process. The fabrication process is configured to permit formation of a substantially uniform composite membrane over an extended planar area while maintaining the distribution of CNF and rGO / WO; within the ዞፎ matrix and the porous membrane morphology generated by non-solvent induced phase separation. The resulting large-area membrane is suitable for incorporation into membrane modules for water and wastewater treatment, including decentralized and solarassisted water purification systems.
