Additional boom and method for operating an excavator

Abstract

An additional boom, an excavator and a method for operating an excavator. The first end (8a) of the additional boom (7) has a pivot joint (9) by which the additional boom is pivotally connected to the main boom (3) of the excavator (1) and with respect to which it can be pivoted to the operating position (K) and the neutral position (V). The second end of the additional boom has an additional coupling device (10) for attaching an additional work tool (11) to the additional boom. The additional coupling device is pivotably arranged and the additional boom further comprises a pivot actuator (12) for moving the additional coupling device and the additional work tool to be connected to it relative to the second end (8b) of the additional boom.
