Abstract

Disclosed is a computer-implemented method which, when executed using hardware and software resources of a computing system (300) comprising one or more computing devices (400), causes the computing system to perform operations comprising: obtaining an output of scanning, wherein the scanning is performed to individual timber items (115, 215) that are being moved on a conveyor (100) comprised in a processing line, wherein the processing line is for processing timber items, based on the output of the scanning, determining a measurement result for each of the individual timber items, based on the measurement results of the individual timber items, cause sorting of each of the individual timber items, wherein the sorting comprises providing each of the individual timber items to their respective bins (160, 162, 164, 166, 168, 260, 262, 264, 266, 268, 320, 310), and the respective bin for each timber item is determined based on its the measurement result, and wherein those individual timber items that are sorted to an individual bin have corresponding measurement results, determining a first combination of measurement results by combining the measurement results of individual timber items that are comprised in a set of bins, that comprises one or more bins, and the set of bins is for forming a timber item load (180, 185, 280, 285, 350), determining an updated first combination of measurement results by determining changes regarding the timber items comprised in the set of bins that occur when the timber items in the set of bins are unloaded and processed for forming the timber item load, and modifying the first combination of measurement results in accordance with the determined changes.
