Method for treating a surface of a cellulosic substrate

Abstract

According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method comprising the following steps: applying a cellulose solubilizing agent onto a surface of a cellulosic substrate, allowing the cellulose solubilizing agent to solubilize an amount of structural polysaccharides from the cellulosic substrate to generate solubilized structural polysaccharides onto said surface, removing at least a part of the cellulose solubilizing agent, whereby the solubilised structural polysaccharides become deposited on said surface of the cellulosic substrate.
