Abstract
The invention relates to a projection objective with a simplified structure for astronomical imaging and the same. The objective is adapted to project an image of an object to an imaging plane (30A-C), and comprises a first optical element group (G1) having a positive effective focal length, and a second optical element group (G2) having a positive effective focal length. The optical elements are arranged so that first element (11A-C) of the first group (G1) is identical with the second element (22A-C) of the second group (G2), and the second element (12A-C) of the first group (G1) is identical with the first element (21A-C) of the second group (G2), having air-spaces arranged so that aberrations from one group can be balanced by the aberrations in the other group. The objective suits well for correcting aberrations while employing a larger relative aperture (20A-C), while providing a simplified structure for manufacturing benefits.
