A core tray insert and methods of use and manufacture

Abstract

A moulded core tray (100) of integrated manufacture is provided, the tray having a plurality of core-receiving channels having closed opposite ends and a peripheral outer wall section external to the channels, wherein the wall section is in spaced relationship with an adjacent wall of an outer channel, thereby defining a cavity between said walls, the tray further including an insert (40) for least partial insertion into the cavity, the insert having a surface accessible from below the cavity and being suitable for bearing against the fingers of a human handler of the tray when the handler attempts to lift the core tray in horizontal orientation when laden. The insert may be provided separately from the core tray.
