Description

ADVANCED TRAINING IN THE MOTORS OF AN INSTALLATION OF AUTOMATIC TRANSPORT WITH AXIAL MOTORS The main patent shows that, to allow trainsets to turn around at the end of the line, the motors must be positioned so that their planes of symmetry coincide with that of the track. The base plate on which they rest, and which gives them their characteristic Omega cross-section (patent 8027953 in the name of Jean Cuimbal), then serves as a cover for the box containing the contactor(s) and the rest of the equipment specific to the motor in question. According to the invention, this arrangement is used to improve motor cooling. For electrical reasons, the base plate must be a good conductor of electricity, and it is known that the best conductors, copper and aluminum, are also good conductors of heat. Under these conditions, the problem of motor cooling is solved according to the invention by improving heat transfer, firstly from the coils to the base plate, and secondly from this base plate to the sides of the control gear enclosure. According to the invention, the transfer of heat from the coils to the base plate is achieved by arranging copper or aluminum wedges which are clamped onto this base plate and are in contact, on the one hand, with the sides of the coils between which they are located, and on the other hand, with the magnetic teeth located on either side of their end. According to the invention, each tooth has on at least one of its faces a thick sheet metal clamped by screwing or riveting onto the wedge just mentioned and which, in this way, transmits to it the heat which comes from the coils via the sheets which constitute this tooth. According to the invention, these sheets also transmit heat directly to the wedge by direct contact and, for this purpose, terminate with a bevel tight against a bevel fitted to the wedge. According to the invention, the thicker sheets have, on the side opposite the base plate, an L-shaped form which allows them both to better hold the coils, and to transmit an additional part of the magnetic flux to the part of the Omega armature located in the middle of the bottom of this Omega. According to the invention, heat is transferred to the sides of the equipment enclosure by means of screw clamping these sides against the lateral edges of the base plate. These sides are made of a metal with sufficient heat conductivity and are thick enough to ensure efficient heat transfer. According to the invention, the cooling surface of the sides is increased by fins held tightly by screwing, riveting or welding so as, again, to transmit heat well. According to the invention, in the corners located on the side opposite the base plate, the bars which constitute the teeth as well as the cheeks of the coils are pierced with holes which allow the passage of rods by means of which the whole assembly can be made mechanically joined. According to the invention, in order for the coils to fit well on the assembly made up of the shims and the thick sheets, either an inset obtained by milling the shims is provided, or rectangular plates are added which compensate for the extra thickness created by the thick sheets. The figure represents a non-limiting example of an embodiment according to the invention. The motor consists of a stack of successive coils I and pairs of teeth 2, each of these teeth being made up of thin magnetic bars clamped between thicker sheet metal bars 3 and 4. These bars are provided with small right-angled returns 5 which hold the core 6 onto which the assembly is threaded. The trapezoidal aluminium wedge 7 is clamped onto the base plate 8. It is milled along 9 and 10 on both sides of each of its points, so as to join the ends of the thick sheet metal bars 3, 4. The ends of these bars are cut obliquely along 11 and rest on the oblique parts of the shims 7, along with the pointed ends 12 of the thin sheet metal bars that form the teeth 2. The holes 13 allow the passage of rods that provide mechanical support for the assembly. The end connection 14 of the coil 1 passes through the hole 15 in the base plate 8 and joins the contactor 16 located in the enclosure, which is covered by the base plate. The other connection 17 passes through a side of the coil, through a groove 18 in the shim 7, and also through the base plate 8 to be connected to a neutral (not shown). The box has an extra length topped by a plate 19 which is thinner than the base plate 8 and which is crossed by the proximity detector 20 which is responsible for activating the contactor 16 when an armature arrives on the motor in question (in the case of a brake motor there is an extra length and a proximity detector at each end).
