Description
The present invention relates to French patent No. 89 06890 and constitutes an addition to this patent. According to the swing-forming device described by French patent No. 89 06890, each of the two ends of a rigid connecting member connects, via an articulation, a metal suspension tube or even any element metal fixed to this metal suspension tube according to a rigid mechanical connection.Each of these two joints is mentioned in a non-detailed schematic form and takes the appearance (with reference to figure 1 of this patent) of a bearing 14 or 15 into which is inserted a gripping member constituted by a tubular metal part of a rigid connecting member. In practice, the realization of these two joints in this form of bearing proves to be complicated and expensive due to the configuration of the constituent parts, their number and size, as well as the nature of their assembly. The device, object of the invention, proposes a hinge of simple configuration, making it possible to obtain, for a reduced cost, optimum efficiency and solidity. According to the device according to the invention, one or two metal elements are connected, according to a rigid mechanical connection, and prominently, to each gripping member constituting the tubular part of the rigid connecting member. Each metal element is pierced with a hole into which is inserted a shaft provided with a stopper coming into contact with this element. This pin is arranged parallel to the linear part of the gripping member and is integral with the metal suspension tube or even with any metal element fixed to the metal suspension tube according to a rigid mechanical connection. The minimum distance existing between the tubular part of the gripping member and the metal suspension tube (or even any metal element fixed to this metal suspension tube according to a rigid mechanical connection) is superior, in any position taken by the swing in motion, to the maximum dimension of the section of the user's fingers, in order to prevent any risk of injury by entrapment. In the accompanying drawings: - Figure I is a partial perspective view of the device and shows the articulated connection of a metal suspension tube with a part of the rigid connecting member constituting the gripping member. - Figure 2 is a schematic sectional view describing in more detail each joint assembly. According to these figures 1 and 2, two metal elements 1 are connected by welding 2, prominently, to the gripping member 3 constituting the tubular part of the rigid connecting member 4. Each metal element 1 is pierced with a hole 5 in which is inserted an axis formed by the screw 6 which also penetrates through the holes 7 provided in the metal suspension tube 8 to be secured thereto. The screw head 9 and the washer 10 tightened by the self-locking nut 11 constitute two stops each coming into contact with a metal element 1. The two spacers 12 constitute guides for the bearing surface of the screw 6 inside the suspension metal tube 8. This tube 8 supports a swing seat 13. According to Figure 2, the screw 6 constitutes the axis of articulation XX' parallel to the linear part YY' of the gripping member 3. The minimum distance D existing between the tubular part of the gripping member 3 and the tube metal suspension 8 is greater, in any position taken by the swing in motion, the maximum dimension of the section of the fingers of the user. The device, object of the invention, can be used as a hinge joint arranged between the metal parts of a two-seater swing.
Claims
CLAIM 1. A device forming a hinge joint disposed between the metal parts of a two-seater swing, according to claim 2 of the main patent, characterized in that one or two metal elements (1) are connected, by a rigid mechanical connection, and prominently, to each gripping member (3) constituting a tubular part of the rigid connecting member (4), each metal element (1) being pierced with a hole into which is inserted a shaft (6-XX') provided with a stop (9, 10) coming into contact with each of these elements (1), this shaft (6-XX') being disposed parallel to the linear part (YY') of the gripping member (3) and integral with the metal suspension tube (8) or with any metal element fixed to the metal suspension tube (8) by a rigid mechanical connection,the minimum distance (D) existing between the tubular part of the gripping member (3) and the metal suspension tube (8) (or any metal element fixed to this metal suspension tube (8) by a rigid mechanical connection) being greater, in any position taken by the swing in motion, than the maximum dimension of the cross-section of the user's fingers.
