Description
The invention relates to a device for measuring the developed width of the nail plate. The patent application filed on November 7, 1989 under No. 89 14637 describes a caliper-type device with vernier, consisting of a graduated ruler and two right-angled pieces, one of which is fixed and the other of which slides on the ruler to allow the thickness of the object clamped between these two right-angled pieces or jaws to be evaluated, characterized by the fact that each end of the two right-angled pieces is provided with a wire guide means, such as a cylindrical tube arranged parallel to the end of the right-angled piece.The two tubes are long enough to exceed the length of the brackets. A wire enters one end of one of the cylindrical tubes, oriented towards the base of the bracket, exits the other end of the same tube, and enters the end of the tube of the other bracket, on the point side, exiting the other end of that same tube. The wire is slidably mounted within the tubes. One end of the wire has a locking knot, and the other end has an additional length of wire to allow the two pieces to be separated at an angle. On the side of the free end of the wire, the bracket has, near the corresponding tube, a means for locking the wire. According to a preferred embodiment, the cylindrical tubes are parallel in their first part and are inclined towards each other in the second part, as soon as they pass the point of the brackets. The wire locking mechanism is a flexible bar that locks the wire against the body of the right-angled piece. The zero point alignment between the two right-angled pieces is achieved when the two wire guide means, such as tubes, have their ends in contact. The accompanying drawings are provided as illustrative and non-limiting examples. They represent a preferred embodiment of the invention and will facilitate understanding of the invention. DEMANDS 1. A caliper-type apparatus with a vernier scale comprising a graduated scale (1) and two right-angled pieces (2, 3), one of which is fixed and the other of which slides on the scale (1) to allow the thickness of the object clamped between these two right-angled pieces (2, 3) to be evaluated, according to claim 1 of the main patent application, characterized by the fact that that each end (4, 5) of the two brackets (2, 3) is provided with a cylindrical guide tube (6, 7) for a wire (8), said tube (6, 7) is arranged parallel to the end (4, 5) of the bracket, the two cylindrical tubes (6, 7) have a length such that they exceed the length of the brackets (2, 3), a wire (8) enters one of the ends (9) of one of the cylindrical tubes (7) oriented towards the side of the base of the bracket (3), exits through the other end (11) of the same tube (7) and enters the end (12) of the tube (6) of the other bracket (2), on the point side of the bracket (4), to exit through the other end (13) of this same tube (6); the wire (8) is mounted sliding in said tubes (6, 7), one end of said wire (8) has a locking knot (14), the other end of wire (8) has additional wire length (15), so as to allow the two pieces to be separated at right angles (2, 3);the zero point or calibration point (20), which corresponds to the point where the two right-angled pieces (2, 3) are joined, allows the zero of the graduated ruler (1) of the right-angled piece (2) to correspond with the zero of the vernier of the right-angled piece (3); this zero point corresponds to the point where the two tubes (6, 7), which act as a means of guiding the wire (8), are also in contact at the level of their free ends (11, 12).
