Abstract

Method for determining the atmospheric pressure for a combustion engine comprising a cylinder, a butterfly valve and an air intake valve in said cylinder as well as a pressure sensor between said butterfly valve and said intake valve, said method comprising the following steps: - measuring a first pressure (MAP_UP) at a given angular position of the engine, - measuring a second pressure (MAP_UP_T) at a predetermined time interval after the measurement of the first pressure, - determining with other parameters (N, TPS) an estimated value of the atmospheric pressure, said time interval corresponding to a half-period of a pressure pulsation observed during an air intake into the engine, and an average pressure (MAP_AV) corresponding to the average of the first pressure (MAP_UP) and the second pressure (MAP_UP_T) being used to determine with the other possible parameters the atmospheric pressure.Abstract figure: Figure 3.
