AI Technical Summary
Existing application devices struggle to effectively fix large quantities of viscous cosmetic liquids on applicators, leading to inefficiencies in material transfer and application.
The application device incorporates a conical-shaped guide surface on the upper wall of the container that guides an agitator towards an exposure hole, ensuring the viscous material is transferred efficiently to the applicator, while a wiper seal wipes off excess material.
This design ensures a sufficient amount of cosmetic liquid is fixed on the applicator, allowing for effective application and minimizing waste, even as the liquid level decreases.
Abstract
Description
Description Title of the invention: APPLICATION DEVICE Technical field The present invention relates to an application device for applying a material intended to be applied, such as a viscous cosmetic liquid, for example a corrector, onto an application object such as skin. CONTEXT An application device comprising a container containing a material intended to be applied as a cosmetic liquid and an applicator removably attached to the container is proposed (see US 4 796 647 B1, US 5 492 426 B1, JP 5 264 117 B1 and JP 5 409 051 B1). An agitator, such as a ball for agitating the material to be applied, is housed in the container and a user agitates the material to be applied by shaking the application device and removes the applicator from the container to apply, onto the object of application such as skin, the material to be applied attached to the applicator. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION However, such an application device is necessary to effectively fix the viscous materials intended for application to the applicator. Therefore, the objective of this application is to provide an application device capable of effectively fixing large quantities of these materials to the applicator. The present invention employs the following means to solve the above problem. The application device according to the present invention comprises: a container defining a holding space for the material to be applied; and an applicator removably mounted on an opening of the container and comprising an application portion to be fixed to the material to be applied, in which an agitator for agitating the material to be applied is housed in the holding space, in which an upper wall defining the holding space is formed with an exposure hole to expose the application portion of the applicator, mounted on the container, to the holding space, and is defined with a conical guiding surface that guides the agitator towards the exposure hole and is recessed towards the outside of the holding space. According to the present invention, by shaking the application device, the agitator moves in the containment space and agitates the material intended to be applied. Next, the agitator, moving within the container space, touches or comes into contact with the guide surface of the upper wall defining the container space. It is then guided towards the application hole by the conical guide surface and comes into contact with the application area exposed at the exposure hole. Thus, the material to be applied, attached to the agitator, is transferred to the application area. Similarly, just as with the agitator, the material to be applied, agitated by the agitator, reaches the guide surface of the upper wall, is guided towards the application hole by the conical guide surface, and comes into contact with the application area of the applicator exposed at the exposure hole. Thus, the material to be applied is fixed to the application area.In this way, by guiding the agitator attached to the material to be applied and the material itself towards the application hole via the guiding surface of the upper wall, a sufficient quantity of the material is effectively fixed to the application area. Even when the application device is inverted, the agitator attached to the material and the material agitated by the agitator reach the guiding surface of the upper wall and are guided towards the application hole by the guiding surface, and consequently, a sufficient quantity of the material is also effectively fixed to the application area. Furthermore, in the application device according to the present invention, the container may comprise: a main container body that holds the material to be applied and opens upwards at its upper edge; a lid that closes an upper opening in the upper edge of the main container body and is formed with a connecting hole linked to the application hole; and a funnel attached to the lid, formed with the application hole and defining the guiding surface. According to the present invention, the agitator attached to the material to be applied and the material to be applied, agitated by the agitator, are guided towards the application area by the guiding surface defined by the funnel. Furthermore, in the application device according to the present invention, the lid may be provided with a cylindrical opening that includes the communication hole and through which the applicator is inserted. According to the present invention, when mounting the applicator onto the container, the applicator is securely mounted to the container by inserting the applicator into the opening. Furthermore, in the application device according to the present invention, the container may include a scraper seal that wipes away excess material to be applied from the application area. According to the present invention, after applying the material to be applied to the application area, it is possible to wipe away the excess material. Furthermore, in the application device according to the present invention, the container may have a box shape wider than the applicator and may stand upright on its own. According to the present invention, even if the container space is wider than the applicator, the material to be applied can be guided to the exposed portion of the application area by the guiding surface. Furthermore, in the application device according to the present invention, the applicator may include: a cap removably attached to the container and a brush attached to one end of the cap, which constitutes the application portion. According to the present invention, the cap can be used as the handle of the applicator, while the material to be applied, attached to the brush, can be applied to the object of application. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION METHODS An embodiment of the pressure generator and the formula injector comprising the pressure generator according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the figures. In the figures used in the following description, each element is scaled accordingly to make it identifiable. As shown in Figures 1 to 4, the application device 1 according to the embodiment comprises: a container 2 containing a liquid cosmetic L such as a concealer; and an applicator 3 for applying the cosmetic L onto an application object such as skin. The container 2 comprises: a main container body 11, which opens at its upper edge and has a cubic shape; a lid 12 mounted at the upper end of the main container body 11; a funnel 13 mounted inside the lid 12; a cylindrical scraper seal 14 attached to the lid 12; and a spherical stirrer 15 housed within the main container body 11. The main container body 11, the lid 12, the funnel 13, and the scraper seal 14 are arranged such that their central axes lie on the same axis. Hereinafter, the central axis is referred to as the axis O of the container. In addition, a direction proximal to the main body of container 11 along the axis O of the container is called the downward direction, and the opposite direction is called the upward direction, and a direction crossing the axis O of the container is called the radial direction, and a direction around the axis O of the container is called the circumferential direction. The main body of the container 11 is made of PETG, for example, and comprises: a lower wall 21, square in plan view; and a circumferential wall 22 extending upwards from the outer circumference of the lower wall 21 and having a square tubular shape. The lower wall 21 and the circumferential wall 22 are coaxially arranged on the axis O of the container. The inner circumferential edge of the upper end of the circumferential wall 22 is set back downwards from the outer circumferential edge of the upper end. As shown in Figures 1 to 6, the lid 12 is made of PETG, for example, and comprises: a top wall 31 which is square in shape in a plan view; a tubular fitting wall 32 which extends downwards from the top wall 31 slightly radially inside the outer circumferential edge of the top wall 31 and has a square tubular shape; a mounting tube 33 which extends from an opening edge of a first through hole 31A formed in the center of the top wall 31 and which has a circular cylindrical shape; and a tubular mouth 34 which extends upwards from the opening edge of the through hole 31A of the top wall 31. The top wall 31, the tubular fitting wall 32, the mounting tube 33 and the tubular mouth 34 are coaxially arranged on the axis O of the container. The upper wall 31 closes the opening in the upper edge of the main container body 11. The outer circumferential edge of the upper wall 31 rests on said step of the circumferential wall 22 and is welded to the circumferential wall 22. The upper surface of the upper wall 31 is thus flush with the outer circumferential edge of the upper edge of the circumferential wall 22. The tubular adjustment wall 32 is inserted inside the circumferential wall 22 of the main container body 11. The length of the tubular adjustment wall 32 along The axis O of the container is such that the tubular adjustment wall 32 does not touch the cosmetic L when the application device 1 is supported on a horizontal plane. The length of the mounting cylinder 33 along the axis O of the container is shorter than that of the tubular adjustment wall 32. The outer circumferential surface of the upper end of the mounting cylinder 33 is formed with a first mounting recess 33A along its entire circumference. In addition, the lower end of the mounting cylinder 33 is formed with a support projection 33B extending radially inward. The length of the mouthpiece cylinder 34 along the axis O of the container is greater than that of the adjustment cylinder 33. The inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical mouthpiece 34 is formed with restriction grooves 34A to prevent the scraper seal 14 from rotating relative to the cover 12.The restriction grooves 34A extend along the axis O of the container. In addition, the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical mouth 34 located above the restriction grooves 34A consists of a second fixing recess 34B along its entire circumference. As shown in Figures 1 to 4, 7, and 8, the funnel 13 is made of PETG, for example, and comprises: a square guide plate 41 in plan view; and a tubular retaining wall 42 extending upwards from the guide plate 41 so as to surround the opening edge of a second through hole 41A formed in the center of the guide plate 41 and having a circular cylindrical shape. The guide plate 41 and the tubular retaining wall 42 are coaxially arranged on the axis O of the container. The guide plate 41 is inclined upwards from the outer circumferential edge to the second through hole 41A formed in the center of the guide plate 41. The lower surface of the guide plate 41 defines the guiding surface of the agitator 15. The outer circumferential edge of the guide plate 41 is in contact with or sufficiently close to the inner circumferential surface of the tubular adjustment wall 32.The guide plate 41 defines a capacity space S jointly with the lower wall 21 and the circumferential wall 22 of the main container body 11 to accommodate the cosmetic L, and acts as an upper wall defining the capacity space S. The inner circumferential surface of the upper end of the tubular fixing wall 42 is formed with a first fixing projection 42A engaging with the first fixing recess 33A over its entire circumference. As shown in Figures 1 to 4, 9 and 10, the scraper seal 14 is made, for example, of PE and has a circular cylindrical shape whose inner diameter decreases from its upper end to its lower end. The scraper seal 14 is mounted in the mounting cylinder 33 of the cover 12. The outer circular surface of the upper end of the scraper seal 14 has a male thread 14A for the Applicator assembly 3. In addition, the outer circumferential surface of the scraper seal 14 under the male thread 14A is formed with a second mounting projection 14B that engages with the second mounting recess 34B of the cylindrical opening 34. Furthermore, the outer circumferential surface of the scraper seal 14 under the second mounting projection 14B is formed with restricting ribs 14C extending radially outwards. The restricting ribs 14C extend along the axis O of the container and engage with the restricting grooves 34A in the circumferential direction. Moreover, the outer circumferential surface of the scraper seal 14 under the restricting ribs 14C consists of an elastic cylinder 14D extending radially outwards. The elastic cylinder 14D is inclined radially outwards from its upper end, which is connected to the outer circumferential surface of the scraper seal 14, to its lower end. Furthermore, the elastic cylinder 14D is in elastic contact with the inner circumferential surface of the mounting cylinder 33 and creates a watertight seal between the scraper seal 14 and the fixing cylinder 33 of the cover 12. In addition, the lower end of the elastic cylinder 14D is slightly above the upper surface of the support projection 33B of the mounting cylinder 33. Although the lower end of the scraper seal 14 under the elastic cylinder 14D protrudes further under the guide plate 41 through the first and second through holes 31A, the lower end of the scraper seal 14 does not come into contact with the cosmetic L when the application device 1 is supported on a horizontal plane. The first through hole 31A and the second through hole 41A define the exposure hole. The agitator 15 is, for example, a metal ball. The size of the agitator 15 is larger than that of the lower opening of the scraper seal 14. As shown in Figures 1 to 4, the applicator 3 comprises: a cap 51 which has a circular cylindrical shape with an upper portion; a sleeve 52 which is inserted into the cap 51 and which has a circular cylindrical shape; and a brush 53 which is attached to the sleeve 52 and which has a circular column shape. The cap 51, the sleeve 52, and the brush 53 are coaxially arranged on the axis O of the container. The cap 51 is made of PETG, for example, and comprises: a sleeve portion 61 which has a circular cylindrical shape with an upper portion; a mounting portion whose inner and outer diameters are larger than those of the sleeve portion 61 and which has a circular cylindrical shape; and a connecting portion 63 which connects the lower end of the sleeve portion 61 and the upper end of the mounting portion 62 and which has a circular annular plate shape. The sleeve portion 61 has a circular cylindrical shape with an upper portion that is elongated along the axis O of the container and acts as a The applicator handle 3. In addition, the inner circumferential surface of the lower end of the handle portion 61 is formed by a third mounting recess 61A along its entire circumference. The inner circumferential surface of the mounting portion 62 is formed with a female thread 62A screwed into the male thread 14A formed on the upper end of the scraper seal 14. The lower surface of the connecting portion 63 is provided with a sealing cylinder 63A projecting downwards from the portion of the connecting portion 63 that is radially inside the outer circumferential edge of the connecting portion 63. The sleeve 52, for example, is made of PP and comprises: an upper cylindrical portion 71, which is inserted into the sleeve portion 61 of the cap 51 and has a circular cylindrical shape; and a lower cylindrical portion 72, which is mounted with the brush 53 and has a circular cylindrical shape. The outer circumferential surface of the lower end of the upper cylindrical portion 71 is formed with a third mounting projection 71A that engages with the third mounting recess 61A around its entire circumference. A portion connecting the upper cylindrical portion 71 and the lower cylindrical portion 72 is formed with a flange 73 that projects radially outwards. The flange 73 abuts against the lower surface of the connecting portion 63 and is inserted into the sealing cylinder 63A.The central part of the lower cylindrical part 72 along the axis O of the container is provided with a separating part 72A which divides the internal space of the lower cylindrical part 72 into an upper part and a lower part. An internal space of the upper part above the separating part 72A of the lower cylindrical part 72 communicates with an internal space of the upper cylindrical part 71. The brush 53 is inserted into the lower part of the lower cylindrical section 72 of the sleeve 52, beneath the separating section 72A. The lower end of the brush 53 is positioned under the scraper seal 14 so as to be in contact with the cosmetic product L when the application device 1 is resting on a horizontal plane. Furthermore, the outer diameter of the lower end of the brush 53 is larger than that of the lower opening of the scraper seal 14. The method using the application device 1 with the above configuration will then be explained. First, the application device 1 with the applicator 3 mounted on the container 2 is shaken, and the cosmetic L is agitated by the agitator 15. The agitator 15, moving within the container space S, bumps against and strikes the lower surface of the guide plate 41 and is guided by the conical lower surface towards the lower ends of the brush 53, which is exposed from the second hole through 41A. The cosmetic L, attached to the agitator 15, is thus transferred onto the brush 53. Furthermore, the cosmetic L, agitated by the agitator 15, reaches the The lower surface of the guide plate 41 is guided by the conical lower surface towards the brush 53 and is fixed onto the brush 53. A sufficient amount of cosmetic L is thus fixed onto the brush 53. Even when the application device 1 is inverted, the agitator 15 and the cosmetic L are guided by the lower surface of the plate 41 towards the brush 53, and the brush 53 is fixed onto the cosmetic L. Then the cap 51 is unscrewed from the scraper seal 14 and the applicator 3 is detached from the container 2. When removing the applicator 3 from the container 2, the excess cosmetic L fixed onto the brush 53 is wiped away by the lower end of the scraper seal 14. After removing the applicator 3 from the container 2, the cosmetic L fixed onto the brush 53 is applied to the application object such as skin, and after applying the cosmetic L, the cap 51 is screwed onto the scraper seal 14 and the applicator 3 is mounted on the container 2.By reapplying the cosmetic L, in the same manner as mentioned above, by shaking or turning the application device 1, the cosmetic L is fixed onto the brush 53. In this respect, even when the quantity of cosmetic L in the main container body 11 decreases, since the agitator 15 attached to the cosmetic L is guided along the lower surface of the guide plate 41, and the cosmetic L is transferred to the brush 53, a sufficient quantity of cosmetic L is fixed onto the brush 53. As mentioned above, according to the application device 1 in the embodiment, by shaking the application device 1, the agitator 15 moving within the container space S is guided by the guiding surface defined by the lower surface of the guide plate 41 towards the second through hole 41A, and the cosmetic L fixed to the agitator 15 is transferred onto the brush 53 exposing itself from the second through hole 41A, and consequently, a sufficient quantity of cosmetic L is effectively fixed onto the brush 53. Furthermore, the cosmetic L, which reaches the lower surface of the guide plate 41 by shaking the agitator 15, is also guided towards the second through hole 41A and is fixed onto the brush 53, and consequently, a sufficient quantity of cosmetic L is effectively fixed onto the brush 53. By inserting the applicator 3 through the cylindrical opening 34, the applicator 3 is firmly fixed to the container 2.Furthermore, excess cosmetic L, after the cosmetic L is attached to the brush 53, can be wiped away by the scraper seal 14. In addition, even if the container space S is wider than the second through hole 41A, the lower surface of the guide plate 41 can guide the cosmetic L towards the second through hole 41A, and thus the brush 53 is exposed from the second through hole 41A. Moreover, the cap 51 can be used as part of the handle of the applicator 3 to apply the cosmetic L attached to the brush 53 to the application object such as skin. The inventions of this application are not limited to embodiments The inventions described above and various modifications to the embodiments described above may be made without departing from the concept of the inventions of this application. The shape of the agitator is not limited to a spherical shape. Although the funnel defining the guiding surface is formed separately from the lid, the funnel may be formed as a single unit with the lid. Furthermore, the lid, funnel, and main container body may be formed as a single unit. It may not be necessary to provide the scraper seal. The scraper seal may not have a cylindrical shape surrounding the entire circumference of the brush, and the scraper seal may have a different configuration, such as a plurality of plates arranged around the brush with spaces between them in the circumferential direction. In addition, the lower end of the scraper seal may not project downwards from the second through hole. The shape of the main container body is not limited to a cubic box and can take other forms, such as a cylinder with its central portion extending radially outward along the container's axis. Furthermore, the container shape may not be wider than the applicator. The lid may not have a cylindrical opening. Cosmetics are not limited to liquids and can exist in other states, such as semi-liquid, powder, or a mixture of liquid and powder. Moreover, the material intended for application is not limited to cosmetics.Although the applicator is removably mounted on the upper end of the container's scraper seal, it can also be removably mounted on other parts of the container besides the scraper seal, such as the cylindrical opening of the lid, and can be indirectly removably mounted on the container. While the applicator typically consists of a cap, sleeve, and brush, it may also have other configurations, such as a brush directly attached to the cap. Furthermore, the application portion may have other configurations besides a brush, such as one with embedded bristles.
