Description

Title of the invention: System for placing advertising media on containers Field of invention

[0001] The field of the invention is that of the design and manufacture of packaging tools.

[0002] More particularly, the invention relates in particular to a system for depositing advertising media on containers. State of the art

[0003] Packaging plays an important role in promoting products.

[0004] For example, to highlight containers on a shelf, some distributors use advertising supports attached directly to the containers.

[0005] In the case of bottles, for example wine bottles, winegrowers can stand out by adding advertising materials to the bottles of their production, in the form of explanatory booklets about their operation, or their product, for example.

[0006] This is also the case for perfume bottles for which the presence of an advertising medium makes it possible to attract the eye of consumers and to increase the luxurious aspect of the product for the consumer.

[0007] More specifically, the advertising media take the form of booklets associated with a ring intended to tighten around the neck of the bottle.

[0008] The rings may be formed by an elastic band or by an elastically deformable split ring.

[0009] However, while the use of advertising media offers a competitive advantage, it is not very widespread due to its difficulty of implementation.

[0010] In fact, the positioning of advertising media is done manually.

[0011] More precisely, an operator grasps the advertising media one by one to temporarily widen the ring in order to position it around the neck of the bottle.

[0012] When the operator releases the advertising support, the ring recovers its initial shape so as to be held on the neck of the bottle.

[0013] This operation therefore proves to be long and tedious and is generally only carried out for small productions.

[0014] There is therefore a need to automate this operation in order to adapt it to large-scale production. Objectives of the invention

[0015] The invention aims in particular to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art.

[0016] More specifically, the invention aims to propose a system for depositing advertising media on containers, in an automated manner.

[0017] The invention also aims to provide such a system which allows advertising media to be placed on containers quickly.

[0018] The invention further aims to provide such a system which is easily adaptable to different types of containers. Statement of the invention

[0019] These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are achieved thanks to the invention which has as its subject a system for depositing advertising supports on containers, the advertising supports comprising an elastically deformable ring intended to cooperate with a receiving zone of a container, characterized in that the system comprises: - means of transporting containers; - a truncated member intended to cover an upper portion of the containers, the truncated member having a small diameter portion intended to be positioned above the containers, and a large diameter portion having a diameter strictly greater than a diameter of the rings of the advertising supports, the large diameter portion being intended to at least partially surround the upper portion of the containers; - a store intended for storing advertising materials; - a guide member intended to guide the rings from the magazine towards the small diameter portion of the truncated member, and - a member for gripping advertising media in the store, movable between a first position in which the gripping member is located in the vicinity of the small diameter portion of the frustoconical member and is intended to grip an advertising media in the store, and a second position in which the gripping member is located below the large diameter portion of the frustoconical member and is intended to release the advertising media gripped in the first position, the ring of the advertising support being elastically deformed by the truncated cone-shaped member when the gripping member moves from its first position to its second position, and elastically retracted around the container in the receiving area.

[0020] Such a system makes it possible to place advertising media on containers in an automated manner.

[0021] In other words, thanks to this system, it is no longer necessary for an operator to be assigned to placing advertising media on the containers.

[0022] Removal can then be done at low cost and quickly.

[0023] Furthermore, thanks to the truncated cone-shaped member and the gripping member, the removal of Advertising media can be produced on almost all types of containers.

[0024] For this, an adaptation of the truncated cone-shaped organ may be necessary.

[0025] According to an advantageous aspect, the system also comprises means for de relative placement between the containers and the truncated organ.

[0026] The movement means make it possible to facilitate the movement of the containers in the system via the conveying means.

[0027] Indeed, the movement means make it possible to move the containers away from the truncated cone-shaped member to facilitate the movement of the containers, or, on the contrary, to bring the containers closer to the truncated cone-shaped member to facilitate the removal of the advertising media.

[0028] Furthermore, this allows adaptation of the system to different container sizes.

[0029] According to another advantageous aspect, the means of movement are integral with the frustoconical member and intended to move the frustoconical member between a spacing position in which the large diameter portion of the frustoconical member is distant from the containers and a capping position in which the large diameter portion at least partially surrounds the upper portion of the containers.

[0030] This embodiment is simple to implement and inexpensive.

[0031] Furthermore, this embodiment makes it possible to ensure good cooperation of the truncated cone-shaped member with a container on which an advertising medium is intended to be placed.

[0032] According to another advantageous aspect, the displacement means comprise an actuator intended to move the containers one by one towards a high position in which the upper portion of the containers is surrounded at least partially by the large diameter portion of the frustoconical member, from a low position in which the containers are spaced from the frustoconical member.

[0033] This embodiment makes it possible to guarantee that only one container is intended to receive an advertising medium.

[0034] This then guarantees the placement of advertising media on the containers or almost.

[0035] According to another advantageous aspect, the system also comprises a carousel for spacing the containers along the conveying means.

[0036] The carousel allows for isolation of the containers and the timing of the placement of advertising media on the containers.

[0037] Indeed, a carousel conventionally comprises a plurality of cells each intended to receive a single container, which makes it possible to create a spacing between the containers mechanically and automatically.

[0038] According to another advantageous aspect, the movement means are integrated into the carousel.

[0039] This makes it possible to gain in compactness and to make the placement of advertising media on containers even more precise.

[0040] According to another advantageous aspect, the small diameter portion of the truncated cone-shaped member is integral with the guide member.

[0041] Thus, the ring of the advertising supports is directly directed towards the truncated cone-shaped member so as to be elastically deformed with a view to its placement on a container.

[0042] In other words, this limits the risks of incorrect positioning of the ring which could prevent the advertising support from being placed on a container.

[0043] According to another advantageous aspect, the truncated cone-shaped member is formed by a plurality of rigid rods joined to the small diameter portion.

[0044] The use of rigid rods makes it possible to easily modify the shape of the truncated cone member to adapt it to different containers.

[0045] Furthermore, in the event of incorrect positioning of a container, the rigid rods of the truncated cone-shaped member can move slightly apart from each other to allow repositioning of the containers so as to facilitate the removal of an advertising medium.

[0046] According to another advantageous aspect, the truncated cone-shaped member has cutouts allowing the passage of containers.

[0047] According to a configuration in which the system is devoid of movement means or when the truncated cone-shaped member is locked in its capping position, the presence of the cutouts makes it possible to maintain a scrolling of the containers in order to place an advertising medium on each of them.

[0048] According to another advantageous aspect, the system comprises at least one position sensor of the containers relative to the frustoconical member and a control unit coupled to each position sensor, the control unit being configured to control the gripping member.

[0049] This makes it possible to stop the depositing of advertising media when there is no container suitable for receiving them.

[0050] In addition, this makes it possible to limit the energy consumption of the machine since the gripping means are stopped in the absence of a container to be provided with an advertising support. Figures

[0058] [Fig.l] is a schematic representation of a system 1 according to the invention.

[0059] The system 1 allows the placement of advertising media 2 on containers 3.

[0060] As illustrated by [Fig.2], each advertising medium 2 comprises a label 201 and a ring 202.

[0061] Alternatively, the label 201 can be replaced by a booklet.

[0062] The ring 202 is elastically deformable.

[0063] The ring 202 may be continuous and made for example of an elastic band or, on the contrary, be rigid but include a slot allowing its elastic deformation.

[0064] The term "rigid" is understood here as being less malleable than elastic. As an illustrative and non-limiting example, the rigid ring may be made of plastic or a metallic material having high elasticity.

[0065] The containers 3 have an upper portion and, just below the upper portion, a receiving zone 300 with which the rings of the advertising supports 2 are intended to cooperate.

[0066] More precisely, as explained below, the rings 202 of the advertising supports 2 are intended to clamp the containers in the receiving zone 300.

[0067] In the example illustrated by [Fig.l], the containers 3 take the form of bottles.

[0068] For this purpose, the containers 3, in this case the bottles, have a body 301 topped with a neck 302 incorporating the receiving area 300. Conventionally, the neck 302 has a rim allowing the filling and emptying of the containers 3.

[0069] The system 1 comprises different stations, each intended to act on the containers 3 and / or the advertising media 2 to allow the advertising media 2 to be placed on the containers 3.

[0070] As will be explained later, the different stations thus make it possible to move and hold the containers 3, and to grasp the advertising media 2 to place them on the containers 3.

[0071] In more detail, the system 1 comprises - means of conveying 4 containers 3; - a truncated cone-shaped organ 5; - a store 6 intended to store advertising media 2; - a guide member 7, and - a gripping organ 8.

[0072] The conveying means 4 form a station for moving the containers in the system.

[0073] The truncated cone-shaped member 5, the magazine 6, the guide member 7 and the gripping member 8 together form a station for depositing the advertising media 2.

[0074] The conveying means 4 make it possible to convey the containers 3 between an entrance through which the bare containers 3, i.e. without advertising supports 2, enter the system 1, and an exit through which the containers 3 carrying an advertising support 2 leave the system 1.

[0075] According to the embodiment illustrated by [Fig. 1], the conveying means 4 take the form of a conveyor belt on which the containers 3 rest.

[0076] Other embodiments could be provided.

[0077] By way of illustrative and non-limiting example, the conveying means 4 may comprise a plurality of conveying wheels, trolleys or even moving arms.

[0078] With reference to Figures 4 to 6, the frustoconical member 5 is now described.

[0079] As will be explained later, the truncated cone-shaped member 5 has the function to ensure the elastic deformation of the ring 202 in order to allow it to be put in place, that is to say, to be removed and retained, on the upper portion of the container 3.

[0080] For this, the truncated cone-shaped member 5 is intended to cover an upper portion of the containers 3. According to the embodiment illustrated by [Fig.l], the upper portion of the containers 3 is formed by the neck 302.

[0081] The truncated member 5 has a small diameter portion 501 intended to be positioned above the containers 3, and a large diameter portion 502 intended to at least partially surround the upper portion of the containers 3.

[0082] When the large diameter portion 502 surrounds the upper portion of the containers 3, it is located above the receiving zone of the ring 202 as will be explained below.

[0083] The large diameter portion 502 has a diameter strictly greater than a diameter of the rings 202 of the advertising supports 2.

[0084] As illustrated by [Fig.6], the truncated cone-shaped member 5 has at least one cutout 503 allowing the passage of the containers 3.

[0085] More specifically, the truncated cone-shaped member 5 has two cutouts 503, in [Fig.6] the two cutouts 503 being aligned with each other.

[0086] According to the embodiment illustrated by [Fig.5], the truncated cone-shaped member 5 has two cutouts 503.

[0087] The cutout(s) 503 have dimensions allowing the passage of the upper portion of the containers 3.

[0088] With reference to [Fig.3], the truncated cone-shaped member 5 is formed by a plurality of rigid rods 504 joined to the small diameter portion 501.

[0089] According to another embodiment, with reference to Figures 4 to 6, the truncated cone-shaped member 5 is formed from a single piece. The single piece may be made of plastic or metal, thermoformed or rolled for example, and may have or be devoid of cutouts 503.

[0090] With reference to figures 1 to 3, the guide member 7 is intended to guide the rings 202 of the advertising supports 2 from the magazine 6 towards the small diameter portion 501 of the truncated cone member 5.

[0091] As illustrated by figures 2 to 6, the small diameter portion 501 of the frustoconical member 5 is integral with the guide member 7. Thus, the risks of the rings 202 cooperating poorly with the frustoconical member 5 are avoided, or even eliminated.

[0092] The guide member 7 takes the form of a rod, for example.

[0093] As schematically illustrated by [Fig.2], the store 6 forms a column 601 in which the labels 201 of the advertising media 2 are received.

[0094] Column 601 has at least three openings.

[0095] A first opening 602 is positioned in the upper part of the column 601, that is to say opposite the conveying means 4.

[0096] A second opening 603 (visible in [Fig. 1]) is positioned in the lateral part of the column 601 and allows the passage of the rings 202 of the advertising supports 2.

[0097] Finally, a third opening 604 is positioned in the lower part of the column 601 and allows the extraction of the labels 201 from the column 601.

[0098] The third opening 604 has edges 605 making it possible to retain the labels 201 before their extraction from the magazine 6 by the gripping member 8.

[0099] The gripping member 8 is therefore intended to extract the advertising media 2 from the store 6 to allow their placement on containers 3.

[0100] To do this, the gripping member 8 is movable between a first position in which the gripping member 8 is located in the vicinity of the small diameter portion 501 of the frustoconical member 5 and a second position in which the gripping member 8 is located below the large diameter portion 502 of the frustoconical member 5.

[0101] In its first position, the gripping member 8 is intended to grip an advertising medium 2 in the magazine 6.

[0102] In its second position, the gripping member 8 is intended to release the advertising medium 8 gripped in the first position.

[0103] As illustrated schematically by [Fig.2], the gripping member 8 is in the form of a suction cup 801.

[0104] The suction cup 801 may in particular be of the active type.

[0105] When active, the suction cup 801 is provided with vacuum generation means.

[0106] Thus, when the suction cup 801 takes a label 201, the suction makes it possible to maintain contact between the label 201 and the suction cup 801 during the passage of the gripping member 8 from its first position to its second position.

[0107] Other types of gripping members 8 may also be provided. As an illustrative and non-limiting example, the suction cup 801 may be replaced by a clamp, an adhesive member or any other ad hoc solution.

[0108] With reference to [Fig.l], the system 1 also comprises a carousel 9 for spacing the containers 3 along the conveying means 4.

[0109] The carousel 9 has a plurality of regularly spaced cells 91, forming housings for receiving the containers 3.

[0110] The carousel 9 thus makes it possible to space the containers 3 along the conveying means 4 so as to promote optimal cooperation between the truncated cone-shaped member 5 and the containers 3.

[0111] The system 1 also comprises means 10 for relative movement between the containers 3 and the truncated cone-shaped member 5.

[0112] With reference to Figures 4 and 5, two embodiments of the displacement means 10 are now described.

[0113] According to a first embodiment illustrated by [Fig.4], the displacement means 10 are integral with the truncated cone-shaped member 5.

[0114] According to this first embodiment, the displacement means 10 are intended to move the frustoconical member 5 between a spacing position in which the large diameter portion 502 of the frustoconical member 5 is distant from the containers 3 (dotted lines in [Fig. 6]) and a capping position in which the large diameter portion 502 at least partially surrounds the upper portion of the containers. 3 (solid lines).

[0115] In this first embodiment, the displacement means 10 take for example the form of a jack having a body 1001 secured to a frame 100 of the system 1, and a rod 1002 to which the frustoconical member 5 is secured.

[0116] Depending on the movement of the rod 1002 relative to the body 1001, the frustoconical member 5 is moved between its spaced position and its capping position.

[0117] According to a second embodiment illustrated by [Fig. 5], the displacement means 10 comprise an actuator 1003 intended to move the containers 3 one by one towards a high position in which the upper portion of the containers 3 is surrounded at least partially by the large diameter portion 502 of the frustoconical member 5, from a low position in which the containers 3 are spaced from the frustoconical member 5.

[0118] In this second embodiment, the movement means 10 are coupled to the carousel 9.

[0119] More particularly, the actuator 1003 has a piston interposed between two portions of the conveying means 4. Thus, the containers 3 arrive at the carousel 9, from the entrance of the system, via the first portion of the conveying means 4 and are extracted from the carousel 9, towards the exit of the system 1, via the second portion of the conveying means 4.

[0120] The carousel 9 is designed and positioned such that its cells 901 circulate opposite the actuator 1003.

[0121] In other words, the cells 901 of the carousel 9 make it possible to position the containers 3 one by one on the piston forming the actuator 5 so as to allow their elevation in order to cooperate with the truncated cone-shaped member 5.

[0122] The actuator 1003 is secured to the frame 100.

[0123] Furthermore, as illustrated schematically by [Fig.2], the system also comprises means 11 for retaining the advertising support 2 on the containers 3.

[0124] These retaining means 11 are in the form of an elastically deformable tongue. The tongue is positioned so that a free end 1101 is located under the large diameter portion 502. In other words, the free end 1101 is located between the frustoconical member 5 and the conveying means 4. Opposite the free end 1101, the tongue has a fixing end by which the tongue is fixed to the frame 100.

[0125] The elastically deformable tongue is for example produced by folding a metal blade.

[0126] The tab is located at least partly on the passage of the label 201 of the advertising support 2 between the magazine 6 and the container 3.

[0127] Thus, as explained below, the lamella is intended to deform elastically- tically when the label 201 passes through the advertising medium 2 before recovering its initial shape so that the free end 1101 forms a stop for retaining the label 2 on the container 3.

[0128] Finally, the system 1 also comprises at least one sensor 12 of the position of the containers 3 relative to the truncated cone-shaped member 5 and a control unit 13 coupled to each position sensor 12.

[0129] The control unit 13 is configured to control the gripping member 8.

[0130] When the or each position sensor 12 detects the presence of a container 3 opposite the truncated member 5, the control unit 13 controls the gripping member 8 to grasp an advertising medium 2 and position it on the container 3 as described below.

[0131] More precisely, the depositing of advertising support 2 on a container 3 by means of a system 1 as has just been described is carried out as follows.

[0132] The bare containers 3, i.e. without advertising supports 2, are inserted into the system 1 and circulate in the system 1 via the conveying means 4.

[0133] The conveying means 4 direct the containers 3 towards the truncated cone-shaped member 5.

[0134] When the system is provided with a carousel, the containers 3 are each housed in a cell 901.

[0135] The rotation of the carousel 9 then causes the containers 3 to move, spacing them apart from each other to position them one by one opposite the truncated cone-shaped member 5.

[0136] When a container 3 is opposite the frustoconical member 5, the displacement means 10 ensure relative mobility between the frustoconical member 5 and the container 3 so that the large diameter portion 502 at least partially surrounds the upper portion of the containers 3, i.e. the neck 302 in the case of bottles.

[0137] Like the gripping member 8, the displacement means 10 are controlled by the control unit 13.

[0138] When the displacement means 10 are integral with the frustoconical member 5, this means that the frustoconical member 5 is moved from its spacing position to its capping position.

[0139] When the displacement means 10 are coupled to the carousel 9, they move the container 3 opposite the frustoconical member 5 in a high position so that its upper portion is at least partially surrounded by the large diameter portion 502 of the frustoconical member 5.

[0140] Furthermore, the or each position sensor 12 detects the positioning of a container opposite the truncated cone-shaped member 5.

[0141] The detection of the presence of a container 3 opposite the truncated cone-shaped member 5 is interpreted by the control unit 13 which then controls the gripping member 8 to ensure the placement of advertising materials 2 on containers 3.

[0142] The gripping member 8 then moves from its second position to its first position so as to grip the label 2 of an advertising medium 2 in the magazine 6.

[0143] When the gripping member 8 has grasped a label 201, it is moved from its first position to its second position while maintaining gripping of the label 201.

[0144] The label 201 is then moved, which causes the movement of the ring 202 which is integral with the label 201.

[0145] When the gripping member 8 moves from its first position to its second position, the ring 202 of the advertising support 201 moves along the guide member 7 and then the truncated cone-shaped member 5.

[0146] The ring 202 is then elastically deformed by the frustoconical member 5 before elastically retracting around the container 3 when it is located in the receiving zone 300, that is to say when it has passed the frustoconical member 5.

[0147] The advertising support 2 is then secured to the container 3.

[0148] When the advertising medium 2 is secured to the container 3, that is to say the ring 202 is tightened on the container 3 in the receiving zone 300, the gripping member 8 can release the label 201 from the advertising medium 2.

[0149] The release of the label 201 by the gripping member 8 can cause the advertising medium 2 to jump due to the elasticity of the ring 202.

[0150] Thanks to the presence of the retaining means 11, the jump is controlled and the advertising support 2 remains attached to the container 3.

[0151] The container 3 equipped with the advertising support 2 can then be removed from the system 1 via the conveying means 4.

[0152] After releasing the label 201, the gripping member 8 remains in its second position until the or each position sensor 12 detects the presence of a new container 3 and the control unit 13 controls the gripping member to move it to its first position.

[0153] Alternatively, when the system 1 does not have a carousel 9, the conveying means 4 move the containers 3 according to a step-by-step method making it possible to temporarily immobilize the containers 3 opposite the truncated cone-shaped member 5 in order to allow the placement of advertising media 2.

[0154] Furthermore, when the system 1 is devoid of movement means 10, the containers pass through the truncated cone-shaped member 5 via the cutouts 503.

[0155] This makes it possible to reduce the costs of the system and its operation since it is not necessary to have the means of movement 10, nor to supply them with energy.

[0156] The system 1 which has just been described allows the automatic placement of advertising media 2 on containers.

[0157] Indeed, thanks to the truncated cone-shaped member 5, it is possible to elastically deform the ring 202 to position it on the container 3 so that it tightens in the receiving zone.

[0158] The costs associated with highlighting the products contained in the containers 3 can then be reduced since it is no longer necessary to assign an operator to placing the advertising media 2 on the containers 3.

[0159] Furthermore, the advertising media 2 can be placed on containers 3 quickly.
