Abstract

PROCESS FOR TREATING KERATIN FIBERS The present invention mainly relates to a process for shaping, preferably straightening, keratin fibers such as hair, comprising the following steps: (i) applying a composition A to the keratin fibers, in which composition A comprises: (a) at least one organic acid;(ii) applying a composition B to the keratin fibers, wherein the composition B comprises: (b) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of: glyoxylic acid, glyoxylic acid solvates, glyoxylic acid salts, glyoxylic acid esters, glyoxylic acid amides and mixtures thereof and (c) at least one compound, different from compound (b), selected from the group consisting of ketoic acids, their salts and their mixtures and (iii) optionally, heating the keratin fibers to a temperature of more than 50 ºC, preferably more than 100 ºC and, more preferably, more than 150 ºC, once both steps (i) and (ii) are completed. wherein the organic acid (a) is selected from organic acids other than compounds (b) and (c) and wherein the process comprises step (i) then step (ii) or step (ii) then step (i).
