Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for monitoring the safety level of a flight path taken by an aircraft in flight. To this end, the system selects (501), from a set of integration points, the integration point furthest from the aircraft's current position on the path. The system verifies (506) whether a portion of the path extending from the aircraft's current position to the position of the selected integration point is safe (507) if: (i) no conflict is detected, and (ii) a diversion path exists (509). These steps are repeated for each integration point, step by step, until a safe path is found. This results in a safety level that depends on the integration point from which the path is considered safe.
