Packaging and method for transporting drums containing radioactive material Transport packaging intended to transport drums containing radioactive material, comprising: a body (6) forming an internal volume sized to accommodate drums containing radioactive material, the body having a main opening (10); a main cover (7) configured to close the main opening; and a tray (11) having receiving areas configured to receive the drums; the main cover (7) has a secondary opening (16) for the passage of a drum;the tray (11) is rotatably mounted so that a rotation of the tray (11) selectively brings the receiving areas opposite the secondary opening (16), the packaging comprises a lifting system (20) configured to move a barrel, through the secondary opening (16), in translation in a main direction parallel to the axis of rotation, and the packaging comprises a secondary cover (8) configured to close the secondary opening (16).
