Abstract

Antiparasitic composition for external use based on fatty acids and alcohols The invention relates to an antiparasitic composition for external use to treat and control infestations in humans or animals by ectoparasites, such as arthropods. It is particularly suitable for treating head lice infestations in humans. The composition is pediculicidal and ovicidal, 100% effective, with a short list of ingredients. It allows a quick 5-minute treatment, does not suffocate, dry out or weigh down the hair. It is easy to apply and rinse without leaving a greasy residue, and requires only 40 ml per treatment for a child's head. It complies with the standards of non-flammability (flash point above 100°C), naturalness (100%) and biodegradability (according to the OECD 301F test method). The composition contains between 25 and 75% unbranched esters of coconut oil, such as Coco caprylate, an esterified oil of vegetable origin, without lauric acid, to avoid any drying effect. It also includes 10 to 40% dioctyl ether as an emollient, and 10 to 40% of an esterified oil, preferably Lauryl alcohol. The density at 20°C is between 0.800 and 0.900, with a refractive index of 1.430 to 1.440.

Claims

Claims

1. Anti-parasitic product for external use, in particular an anti-lice product, characterized in that it has a rapid action on head lice and their eggs, with a duration of exposure of 5 minutes, and is capable of killing head lice and their eggs within this period,

2. Product according to claim 1, characterized in that said composition advantageously comprises from 25 to 75% of unbranched ester of coconut oil (fatty acids), preferably between 25% and 75% of an esterified oil of the following formula C8-10 fatty acids connected to Cl2-18 fatty alcohols, advantageously, Coco caprylate, esterified by a substance of plant origin, devoid of lauric acid, which makes it possible to avoid any drying effect of the original oil. The composition also comprises a C6-C8 fatty alcohol as an emollient agent, advantageously, between 10% and 40% of Dioctyl ether, 2 chains of 8 carbons linked to 1 oxygen atom. Advantageously, the composition will also present a percentage between 10% and 40% of an esterified oil of the following formula C14-C18 Alkyl Ester, preferably Lauryl alcohol (Dodecan-l-ol).

3. Product according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the product is 100% natural, being composed entirely of substances of natural origin, and that it is easily biodegradable according to the OECD 301F test, thus demonstrating its ability to decompose rapidly in the environment without harming it.

4. Cl. Product according to claims 1, 2 and 3, characterized in that it is intended for the effective elimination of lice and nits (lice eggs) by a strictly mechanical effect, including at least a suffocating effect on the parasites, thus causing their death without the use of toxic chemical substances,

5. Product according to claims 1, 2, 3 and 4, characterized in that it is respectful of the hair and the scalp, and that it can be easily removed by washing, which facilitates its removal after use and reduces the risk of residues on the hair and the scalp,

6. Product according to claims 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 characterized by simple handling for users, thanks to a design 25 ergonomic design that facilitates the application of the product to the hair and scalp, thus allowing effective use without complications,

7. Product according to claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, characterized in that it contains a limited number of ingredients, less than 6, in order to minimize the toxicological risk and to facilitate the understanding of the components by users.
