Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Device for cutting polishing discs and felts with interchangeable blades
[0001] The present invention relates to a device for cutting polishing discs and felts with interchangeable blades to enable them to be shaped to the size of the part to be polished.
[0002] Cutting these discs and felts is traditionally done using a cutter blade, which risks injuring the user.
[0003] Some discs have shapes predefined by the manufacturer but do not specifically adapt to the part to be polished and some other devices do not allow rounded shapes to be cut without taking a considerable risk of injury to the user.
[0004] The device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome this drawback. It comprises, in fact, according to a first characteristic, an ergonomic handle having a blade holder in which different blades of interchangeable shapes can be installed which will allow the cutting of polishing discs and felts.
[0005] According to the particular embodiments: - The ergonomic handle and the blade securing device are securely attached to each other and cannot be removed. - The blade securing device includes a centering and keying cylinder to prevent incorrect installation of the interchangeable blade. - The blade securing device comprises a screwed clamping plate, also comprising 2 centering and keying cylinders to prevent rotational movements of the blade in its support.
[0006] The attached drawings illustrate the invention:
[0007] [Fig-1] represents in isometric view, the device of the invention.
[0008] [Fig.2] represents in sectional view, the device of the invention.
[0009] With reference to these drawings, the device comprises an ergonomic handle (1), one end of which is provided with an orifice allowing the blade holder (2) to be fixed for the installation of an interchangeable blade (3). The blade holder (2) has on its internal face a cylindrical extrusion (7) allowing the centering of the interchangeable blade (3). The interchangeable blade (3) is fixed to the blade holder (2) by a fixing flange (4). The fixing flange (4) is securely connected to the blade holder (2) by a screw (5). This fixing flange (4) has on its internal face two cylindrical extrusions (6).
[0010] In the embodiment according to [Fig.2], the fixing flange (4) is such that rotation of the blade on itself is impossible, since it has on the lower part a flat face which fits against the edge of the blade holder (2).
[0011] According to a variant not illustrated, the shaped blade can be of different geometry to put the precise cutting of the disc or felt to best adapt to the part to be polished.
[0012] The device according to the invention is particularly intended for cutting and shaping discs and felts for polishing metal parts.
Claims
[Claim 1] Claims Device for cutting polishing discs and felts characterized in that it comprises an ergonomic handle (1) having at its end a blade holder (2) into which is inserted an interchangeable shaped blade (3), itself clamped by a fixing flange (4) exerting pressure on the blade when the screw (5) is tightened by the user.
