Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: ELECTRICAL CONNECTION SYSTEM Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to an electrical connection system comprising a male electrical terminal and a female electrical terminal and keying means ensuring the correct insertion of the male electrical terminal into the female electrical terminal. STATE OF THE PRIOR ART
[0002] [Fig. 6] shows a metal electrical terminal 600 which comprises a sheath 602 defining a cylindrical housing 604 into which a stripped end of an electrical conductor is inserted. The sheath 602 is then crushed to ensure the attachment of the stripped end to the electrical terminal 600.
[0003] The electrical terminal 600 also includes a blade 606 pierced with a hole 608 and secured to the sheath 602.
[0004] The drilling 608 allows the introduction of a threaded rod, for example a screw, in order to fix the pallet 606 on an electrically conductive support.
[0005] Although such an electrical terminal 600 is satisfactory, it may happen that under certain conditions of use, it is not completely suitable.
[0006] The electrical current passes from the electrical conductor to the pallet 606 to arrive in the support. When the electrical energy passing through is significant, the electrical terminal 600 forms a bottleneck which results in an increase in temperature. Furthermore, such an arrangement does not prevent bad connections due to assembly errors. Statement of the invention
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide an electrical connection system comprising a male electrical terminal and a female electrical terminal which cooperate to increase the transfer surface for electrical energy and means for locating the electrical terminals which are to be connected together.
[0008] For this purpose, an electrical connection system is proposed comprising:
[0009] - a female electrical terminal having a first sheath intended to receive a stripped end of a first electrical conductor and two first pallets secured to the first sheath and having a space between them, and
[0010] - a male electrical terminal having a second sheath intended to receive a stripped end of a second electrical conductor and a second blade secured to the second sheath,
[0011] where each pallet is crossed by a hole where when the second pallet is between the first two pallets the three holes are aligned, and where each electrical terminal has keying means which cooperate with each other to guarantee the introduction of the second pallet into the space in an insertion direction.
[0012] With such an arrangement, the contact surface between the pallets is significantly increased and the keying means guarantee good positioning while also making it impossible to assemble terminals not intended to be paired.
[0013] Advantageously, each first pallet has on the side opposite the space, a flat at the level of which the corresponding drilling opens.
[0014] Advantageously, parallel to the insertion direction, the length of the second pallet is at least equal to the length of the space and, parallel to the insertion direction, the length of the second pallet is greater than the length of each flat.
[0015] Advantageously, the foolproofing means take the form of first reliefs produced on a first face of at least one first pallet and delimiting the space and second reliefs of a shape complementary to that of the first reliefs and produced on a second face of the second pallet and opposite said first face.
[0016] According to a particular embodiment, the first reliefs are recesses open at a free end of said at least one first blade and the second reliefs are protrusions opposite a free end of the second blade.
[0017] According to a particular embodiment, the first reliefs take the form of a slope which rises from said first face while progressing from an end opposite a free end of the corresponding first pallet, and the second reliefs take the form of a slope which sinks into the corresponding second face while progressing from a free end of the second pallet.
[0018] Advantageously, each pallet is crossed by a complementary drilling where when the second pallet is between the first two pallets, the three complementary drillings are aligned. Brief description of the drawings

[0026] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
[0027] Figs. 1 to 5 show an electrical connection system 100 according to different variants of the invention.
[0028] The electrical connection system 100 comprises a female electrical terminal 104 which has a first sheath 104a into which a stripped end of a first electrical conductor 50b is inserted. The stripped end of the first electrical conductor 50b is held in position, for example, by crushing the first sheath 104a.
[0029] The female electrical terminal 104 also has two first blades 104b-c which are integral with the first sheath 104a. The two first blades 104b-c are arranged parallel to one another and at a distance from one another to have between them a space 106 which takes the form of a slot.
[0030] The electrical connection system 100 also comprises a male electrical terminal 102 which has a second sheath 102a into which a stripped end of a second electrical conductor 50a is inserted. As for the female electrical terminal 104, the maintenance of the stripped end of the second electrical conductor 50a is ensured for example by the crushing of the second sheath 102a.
[0031] The male electrical terminal 102 also has a second blade 102b which is integral with the second sheath 102a.
[0032] The female electrical terminal 104 and the male electrical terminal 102 are made of electrically conductive materials, in particular metal.
[0033] During assembly, the second pallet 102b is introduced into the space 106 between the two first pallets 104b-c in particular in an insertion direction X which is here generally parallel to the axes of the sleeves 102a and 104a.
[0034] Each pallet 102b, 104b-c is crossed by a bore 108a-b and when the second pallet 102b is in position between the first two pallets 104b-c, the three bores 108a-b are aligned so as to allow the insertion of a rod, in particular a threaded rod of a screw.
[0035] The screw may allow fixing and tightening against a support or the installation of a tightening nut which may also be fixed to one of the first pallets 104b-c. The nut may be replaced by a thread made in the bore 108a-b of one of the first pallets 104b-c. Tightening the screw will tighten the pallets 102b and 104b-c against each other by pressing the first two pallets 104b-c against the second pallet 102b.
[0036] Generally speaking, the insertion direction X is perpendicular to the axes of the holes 108a-b.
[0037] Each electrical terminal 102, 104, that is to say the female electrical terminal 104 and the male electrical terminal 102, comprise keying means 150, 250, 350, 450, 550 which cooperate with each other to guarantee the introduction of the second pallet 102b into the space 106 in the insertion direction X.
[0038] With such an arrangement, the contact surface between the pallets 102b and 104b-c is significantly increased, which allows better transfer of current without heating, and the presence of the keying means guarantees that the electrical terminals are perfectly positioned and connected, also making it impossible to assemble terminals not intended to be paired.
[0039] Each first pallet 104b-c thus comprises a first face 256, 356, 456, 556 which comes opposite a second face 258, 358, 458, 558 of the second pallet 102b. The second pallet 102b has two second faces 258, 358, 458, 558, namely one on each side of the second pallet 102b, and a first pallet 104b has a first face 256, 356, 456, 556 which comes against one of the second faces 258, 358, 458, 558, and the other first pallet 104c has a first face 256, 356, 456, 556 which comes against the other of the second faces 258, 358, 458, 558. The different faces are here planar.
[0040] The first two faces 256, 356, 456, 556 constitute the edges of the space 106 and thus delimit it in thickness.
[0041] Each first pallet 104b-c has a free end which is opposite the first sheath 104a and another end opposite the free end, i.e. on the side of the first sheath 104a. In the same way, the second pallet 102b has a free end which is opposite the second sheath 102a and another end opposite the free end, i.e. on the side of the second sheath 102a. In the assembly position, a free end of a pallet 102b, 104b-c is on the side of said other end of the other pallet 104b-c, 102a.
[0042] To ensure good contact between the pallets 102b and 104b-c and without excessive deformation of the first two pallets 104b-c, when tightening the screw, the adjustment between the second pallet 102b and the first two pallets 104b-c is defined accordingly and is for example of the adjusted type, with low or medium clearance.
[0043] In the different embodiments of Figs. 2 to 5, each pallet 102b, 104b-c is crossed by a complementary bore 112a-b and when the second pallet 102b is between the two first pallets 104b-c, the three complementary bores 112a-b are aligned so as to allow the insertion of a rod, in particular a threaded rod of a screw as mentioned above.
[0044] The installation of a double clamp ensures the durability of the connection over time.
[0045] The keying means 150, 250, 350, 450, 550 take different forms in the different variants presented here.
[0046] In each of the variants, each first pallet 104b-c has on the side opposite the space 106, a flat 110 at the level of which the corresponding bore 108b opens, which allows, among other things, the support of the screw head or the nut during tightening. Each flat 110 is produced on a face of a first pallet 104b-c opposite the first face 256, 356, 456, 556.
[0047] In each of the variants presented here, the length of the second pallet 102b is at least equal to the length of the space 106, these lengths are here taken parallel to the insertion direction X. At the same time, the length of the second pallet 102b is greater than the length of each flat 110, always taken parallel to the insertion direction X.
[0048] With such an arrangement, if the second blade 102b is placed against a flat 110, it will be wobbly because it will overlap the first sleeve 104a or it will abut against the first sleeve 104a and the holes will not be aligned, which will indicate poor positioning. The flats 110, the second blade 102b and the lengths defined above together constitute the keying means 150.
[0049] Figs. 2 to 5 show variants with other keying means 250, 350, 450, 550 which may or may not be combined with the keying means 150.
[0050] In the variants of Figs. 2 to 5, the keying means 250, 350, 450, 550 take the form of first reliefs 254, 354, 454, 554 produced on a first face 256, 356, 456, 556 of at least one first pallet 104b-c. The reliefs 254, 354, 454, 554 may be positive, i.e. above the first face 256, 356, 456, 556 or hollow, i.e. below the first face 256, 356, 456, 556.
[0051] The keying means 250, 350, 450, 550 also take the form of second reliefs 252, 352, 452, 552 of a shape complementary to that of the first reliefs 254, 354, 454, 554 so as to fit therein when the second pallet 102b is introduced between the first pallets 104b-c. The second reliefs 252, 352, 452, 552 are produced on the second face 258, 358, 458, 558 of the second pallet 102b which faces the first face 256, 356, 456, 556 on which first reliefs 254, 354, 454, 554 are produced.
[0052] The positions of the reliefs are adapted so that when the second pallet 102b is inserted between the first pallets 104b-c, the reliefs fit into each other.
[0053] In the variants of Figs. 2 to 4, the first reliefs 254, 354, 454 are recesses open at the free end of one and / or the other of the first pallets 104b-c and the second reliefs 252, 352, 452 are protrusions opposite the free end of the second pallet 102b.
[0054] The recesses are hollowed out in the first face 256, 356, 456 and the protrusions protrude from the second face 258, 358, 458.
[0055] The recesses take the form of rectangular hollows with an open face at the free end of the first pallet 104b-c and two faces parallel to the insertion direction X.
[0056] The outgrowths take the form of rectangular parallelepipeds with two faces parallel to the insertion direction X.
[0057] In the variant of [Fig.2], the reliefs 252 and 254 are arranged generally in the middle relative to a transverse direction perpendicular to the insertion direction X.
[0058] In the variant of [Fig.3], the reliefs 352 and 354 are offset laterally relative to a transverse direction perpendicular to the insertion direction X.
[0059] In the variant of [Fig.4], the reliefs 452 and 454 are in pairs and of different shapes and on the sides of the pallets 102b and 104b-c.
[0060] In the variant of [Fig. 5], the first reliefs 554 take the form of a slope which rises from said first face 556 progressing from an end opposite the free end of the corresponding first pallet 104b-c. The slope therefore passes above the first face 556 and projects into the space 106.
[0061] The second reliefs 552 take the form of a slope which sinks into the corresponding second face 558 progressing from the free end of the second pallet 102b. The slope passes below the second face 558.
[0062] The slopes extend parallel to the insertion direction X.
