Abstract

The invention provides a joint band clamping tool (20), comprising a scraper blade (22) having a front scraper edge (24) and being fixed to a blade support (28) over at least 70% of the transverse working width, the tool (20) comprising a stiffener (40) which: • is affixed against the scraper blade (22); • has a rear portion (44, 45) arranged between the scraper blade (22) and the blade support (52); • has a front edge (46) which is arranged behind the front scraper edge (24) of the scraper blade (22) and set back rearward from the front scraper edge (24) by a value in the range of 0 to 30 millimeters; • has a maximum width in the range of 30 to 120 millimeters.
