Catalytic system comprising a metallocene for the synthesis of polyethylene and ethylene-1,3-diene copolymer.

The introduction of a specific dialkylmagnesium co-catalyst in the rare earth metallocene system stabilizes the Mg/Nd molar ratio, addressing impurity sensitivity and enhancing control over polymer molar mass in ethylene and 1,3-diene polymerization.

Abstract

The invention relates to a catalytic system based at least on a neodymium borohydride, a co-catalyst which is a dialkylmagnesium of formula RB-Mg-RL in which RB is a secondary alkyl of formula R2CH and RL is a primary alkyl of formula RCH2, the Rs, identical or different, being alkyls. The catalytic system meets the objective of better control of the macrostructure in a process for the polymerization of ethylene or a monomer mixture containing ethylene and a 1,3-diene.
