Title of the invention: Device for fixing a stopper and method for installing and mounting a foot stopper using such a device Technical field of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to a device for fixing one end of an elongated structural propping element called a butt.
[0002] The invention also relates to a method of setting up and mounting a foot butt for shoring up a portion of a vertical wall by means of such a fixing device. Technical background of the invention
[0003] A buttress is a structural element used in Building and Public Works (BTP) which allows walls or wall elements to be retained.
[0004] The butt is a shoring element generally made of metal, which is arranged horizontally or inclined, generally compressed, which is particularly used in excavation shoring and temporary supports in the field of foundations.
[0005] When the butt is used to retain a wall or a wall element of vertical orientation, for example to laterally delimit an excavation, it is called a "foot butt".
[0006] The foot butt is thus an elongated structural element which extends downwards in a transverse plane orthogonal to the plane of the portion of wall to be supported.
[0007] The foot stop includes in particular an upper end which must be fixed in support against the portion of wall and a lower end which is immobilized in relation to the ground or to a structure designed for this purpose.
[0008] For this purpose, it is known to equip the upper end of the butt with a butt plate which bears against said portion of wall to which it is fixed by "screw-nut" assemblies comprising horizontal tie rods sealed in the wall which pass through corresponding holes in the butt plate.
[0009] The button extends transversely and downwards, for example by forming an angle of forty-five degrees.
[0010] Given the large dimensions and significant mass of the struts commonly used in construction, the placement, assembly and fixing of each strut are complex operations to carry out, requiring in particular to position the strut precisely and to hold it until the end of the fixing operations by screwing.
[0011] The invention aims to remedy these problems by proposing a new design of the means for mounting and fixing a buttress end, as well as an associated method for setting up and mounting a foot buttress. Summary of the invention
[0012] The invention proposes a device for fixing one end of an elongated structural shoring element called a buttress, comprising: - a mounting plate suitable for being fixed on a portion of wall to be supported and from which the buttress extends (in a transverse plane orthogonal to the plane of the mounting plate); - and a butt plate arranged at one end of the butt and suitable for being fixed against the mounting plate, characterized in that it includes means of attachment and articulation allowing successively: - the positioning of the button plate on the mounting plate in a first angular position, called the hooking position; - then the pivoting of the butt plate relative to the mounting plate towards a second angular position, called the support position, in which the butt plate is supported against the mounting plate.
[0013] According to other characteristics of the fastening device: - the pivot axis of the button plate is a horizontal axis in the direction of Earth's gravity; - the butt plate includes a hooking and articulation rod; and the mounting plate includes an open notch, the bottom of which is shaped to house at least partially said rod and allow its pivoting between the first angular hooking position and the second angular support position; - the notch is open vertically upwards to allow the top-to-bottom insertion of said rod into the notch of the mounting plate; - the open notch has a guide profile for the rod towards the bottom of the notch; - in the fixed position of the mounting plate on the portion of the wall, the notch is delimited transversely by a part opposite the portion of the wall; - the butt plate includes a support element which, in the angular support position, cooperates with a complementary portion of the mounting plate.
[0014] The invention also proposes a method for setting up and mounting a foot butt for shoring up a portion of a vertical wall by means of a device according to the invention, characterized in that it comprises the following steps consisting of: - El) Fixing the mounting plate on the portion of the wall and fixing the butt plate to said end of the butt; - E2) Position the stopper to bring the stopper plate in line with the mounting plate by positioning it in the angular position for attachment; - E3) Rotate the stop and the stop plate until they reach their angular support position.

[0050] The design according to the invention of the fastening device 10 which has just been described allows, by way of non-limiting example, the implementation of a method of setting up and mounting a foot butt for shoring up a portion of a vertical wall which is illustrated in figures 6A to 6D.
[0051] This process includes a first step El) consisting, on the one hand and as illustrated in [Fig.6A], of an operator OP fixing the mounting plate 18 on the portion 100 of a wall P which is here a portion of the wall of a pile driven into the ground S.

[0055] In this last position, by the effect of gravity, the butt 16 is fixed and positioned in equilibrium with its lower end 15 cantilevered over a recess in the ground previously made in the form of an excavation 104.
[0056] As illustrated in [Fig.6D], the process can be completed by an additional fourth step E4) which consists for the operator OP in immobilizing the lower end 15 of the butt 16 by pouring, in the bottom of the excavation 104, a concrete mass 106 in which the end is embedded.

Demands
1. Device (10) for fixing one end (14) of an elongated structural shoring element called a strut (16) comprising: - a mounting plate (18) adapted to be fixed on a portion (100) of wall (P) to be shored and from which the strut (16) extends in a transverse plane orthogonal to the plane of the mounting plate (18); - and a strut plate (12) arranged to said one end (14) of the strut (16) and adapted to be fixed in support against the mounting plate (18), characterized in that it comprises hooking and articulation means (28, 46) allowing successively: - the positioning of the strut plate (12) on the mounting plate (18) in a first angular position, called the hooking position; - then the pivoting of the butt plate (12) relative to the mounting plate (18) towards a second angular position, called the support position, in which the butt plate (12) is supported against the mounting plate (18).
2. Device (10) according to claim 1, characterized in that the pivot axis (A) of the button plate (12) is a horizontal axis.
3. Device (10) according to any one of the preceding claims characterized in that: - the butt plate (12) comprises a hooking and articulation rod (28); - and the mounting plate (18) comprises an open notch (46) of which a bottom (48) is shaped to house at least partially said rod (28) and allow its pivoting between the first angular hooking position and the second angular support position.
4. Device (10) according to claim 3 in combination with claim 2, characterized in that the notch (46) is open vertically upwards to permit the introduction from top to bottom of said rod (28) into the notch (46) of the mounting plate (18).
5. Device (10) according to any one of claims 3 or 4, characterized in that the open notch (46) has a profile (45, 47) for guiding said rod (28) towards the bottom (48) of the notch (46).
6. Device (10) according to claim 3, characterized in that, in the fixed position of the mounting plate (18) on the portion of wall (100), the notch (46) is delimited transversely by a part opposite the portion (100) of wall (P).
7. Device (10) according to any one of claims 3 or 4, characterized in that the butt plate (12) comprises a support element (30, 23) which, in the angular support position, cooperates with a complementary portion (54, 33) of the mounting plate (18).
8. Method of installing and mounting a foot strut (16) for shoring a portion (100) of a vertical wall (P) by means of a device (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises the following steps consisting of: - E1) Fixing the mounting plate (18) on the portion (100) of wall (P) and fixing the strut plate (12) to said end (14) of the strut (16); - E2) Positioning the strut (16) to bring the strut plate (12) opposite the mounting plate (18) by positioning it in the angular position of attachment; - E3) Rotating the strut (16) and the strut plate (12) until it reaches its angular support position.
9. A method according to the preceding claim implementing a device (10) according to claims 3 and 4, characterized in that said step E2) of positioning the button (16) consists of housing at least partially said rod (30) in the bottom (48) of the notch (46).
10. A method according to the preceding claim, characterized in that: - when the butt plate (12) is in its angular support position, the butt (16) extends in equilibrium downwards with its other end (15) cantilevered over an excavation (104) in the ground (S); - and in that the method comprises an additional step E4) consisting of immobilizing said other end (15) by creating a concrete block (104) in which it is embedded.
