Abstract

MASCARA COMPOSITION Mascara compositions with a pronounced and long-lasting lift are available. Such compositions generally include a water-soluble wax and a film-forming agent. The water-soluble wax includes a cetearyl alcohol polyethylene glycol ether (such as ceteareth-25). The film-forming agent includes a copolymer of n-vinylpyrrolidone, methacrylamide, and n-vinylimidazole. The water-soluble wax may be present in an amount of 15% to 30% by weight of the composition. The film-forming agent may be present in an amount of 3% to 10% by weight of the composition. The compositions may include additional materials, such as a polyol, a chelating agent, a preservative, or a skin-active agent (such as an antioxidant). The composition may include water in an amount of 50% to 80% by weight of the composition. The composition may be substantially free of C2-C5 monoalcohols. The composition may be substantially free of a colorant.Figure for the abridged version: none.
