Abstract

NATURAL STYLING COMPOSITION AND HAIR STYLING METHOD The present invention relates to a styling composition comprising: (a) gellan gum; (b) xanthan gum; (c) starch; (d) modified cellulose; (e) a polyol having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms; (f) a monoalcohol having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms; and (g) water. The composition is a transparent, non-emulsified gel that provides styling and conditioning benefits to the hair. The composition is particularly useful in hair treatment processes, especially processes for styling or shaping hair permanently, adding shine, and providing fast-drying frizz control and curl definition without flaking.
