Abstract

Processes and installations for recycling sandwich panels by mechanical grinding and immersion, before or after grinding, in a deep eutectic solvent (DES). The invention relates to a recycling process for a defective new or used sandwich panel, comprising the following steps: i1 / mechanical grinding of at least a portion of the panel to obtain ground pieces of a unit size less than or equal to a first predetermined threshold value; ii1 / after step i1, physical sorting of the ground pieces to separate, among them, the contaminated metal(s) from the other material(s), including at least one polymer and / or at least one insulating material; iii1 / after step ii1, immersion of the ground pieces of contaminated metal in at least one deep eutectic solvent (DES) to obtain clean metal(s).
